Minecraft creator Notch Tweeted ‘@TimOfLegend Let’s make Psychonauts 2 happen.’ just before 11am today and is apparently serious going by another of his tweets to Rock Paper Shotgun.

Double Fine founder Tim Schafer (TimOfLegend on Twitter) has pitched Psychonauts 2 many times saying ”I’d love to do that game, but I’d have to convince someone to just give me a few million dollars, that’s all.”. Here Notch is offering to put up the money needed to make a sequel to the 2005 psychic platformer. Notch has stated on Reddit that he would stay out of the games potential development.

Fans of Psychonauts are supportive of Notch’s efforts and so is Double Fine financier Steven Dengler ‘@notch @timoflegend I’m in.’. All that is left is for Tim himself to agree to this. Going by his past interviews this is the moment he has been waiting for, someone offering up the money to make a sequel to his baby.

I’ll update with Tim’s response when he gives it.
