Wow you are doing well 2.47 million unemployed and
( techically ) you have two jobs.............

Google "give in written notice at work"
brings up some helpful ideas.....

Generally be very polite ( you may need a reference )
and positive about your experience gained within the company
enabling you to take a higher paid better job elsewhere :whistling:

Dear Sirs

Please accept this letter as my written notice of 1 week as per the conditions contained in my employment contract.

I will cease employment on ** September 2009.

Regards/Yours Sincerely

**Your Name**

It doesnt matter what you write in it, as long as you give them adequate notice and date the letter accordingly.

Before I started contracting (lots more money in that) I had to give 3 months notice too.

But 15 miles ? why ? :?

we get paid weekly, so i pressume its weekly, dont really care they are a crap company to work for, i drive for them from 3am till 11am and only get £6 per hour and this week we find out the imigrants are getting a py rise but were not, so time to call in the imigration now, lol

Is that to stop you taking clients with you? I've got the same in my job... can't work within 10 miles for the first year after leaving (good job there's nowhere else really within 10 miles :-D)

Midlands got it - to stop me taking clients with me as they belong to me and not the firm I work for. It is also to stop me taking sources of work with me. To be honest, I can argue in court that it would be absurd to stop me working within 15 miles but Exeter is littered with places where I can work.

oh fair enough but surely if the clients want to move 15 miles isn't a great distance

Think this is a pretty usual request

" I hereby tender my notice of resignation effective from ( insert date here ).

Thank you to everyone I have worked with I have really enjoyed the time I have spent working for ( company name ) and leave my thanks and best wishes with all of you. "

Would do it, I would think?
