Are you all missing the point or just on the wind up? The post refers to what the decade will be called not next year.

I reckon the tenties sounds lame. but then so did the noughties (but at least that had some dual meaning)

As we are in a recession we could call it the tenners (cos that is all i have in my wallet at any given time)

Right no one is going to pronounce anything from now on like the following - two thousand and ten - we will all say twentyten - twenty 11 etc - so why not twenties
