Has anyone returned anyhting to Novatech for a refund?

I recently returned a few items that were less than 28 days old, most being within 7days old, i just looked at my order history and it looks like they have refunded me minus the VAT?

Hasn't reached my bank yet so cant check but was wondering if this was right? If so i'll just under £100 out of pocket and would have been better off keeping the bits

Were they faulty or just unwanted?

If less than 7 days they have to refund you fully, inc p&p under distnce selling regs. You have to foot the bull for return p&p unless the goods are faulty. They can't keep the VAT.

They weren't faulty just unwanted, there was 5 items in total and i boxed them all up together.

The oldest item was around 21 days old, then the most recent arrived last saturday, just in my order history it's got the price of the items excluding VAT then refunded at the bottom.

Like i say the funds haven't reached my bank yet so not sure if they have refunded me excluding VAT

Novatech are usually very good for returns. Its all done computerised so that any money you paid will get refunded straight back onto or however you paid. All invoices show the pre-vat totals then vat on top, like when you order it adds the vat at the last minute. Dont worry as they will sort out any probs im sure. I never have any complaints with them when i take it back personally to the returns dept. Cant take a week or two to go back in though.

You are only entitled to a full value return within 7 days for non faulty items, I suspect that Novatech have subtracted a percentage handling fee, which they are entitled to do.

Read their T&C's.

Thanks for the replies, once the refund has reached my bank i will know if they have refunded me the price excluding VAT.

Then if so i can ring them to find out why

They may well charge a restocking fee (which could be 15% - coincidentally VAT), which they are allowed to do if it's outside of 7 days...

From the Novatech T&C's...

The seller reserves the right to make a handling and restocking charge of 25% on goods which are returned if they were ordered in error or are no longer required.

You are lucky it was Novatech, some companies would have just sent stuff back that you had held for over 7days and charged return postage.

Just thought i would update.

Refund's were received including VAT and no re-stock charges, even though the packaging was opened.
