I managed to pick up this CD for £1 at a bootsale this weekend.

I am debating with the "boss" as to whether it gets kept or sold.

What do you think I should do?

Who does it have on it?
Epic thread is epic
how much will that value?
Tracks are not great.

Duran Duran : "The Reflex" Originally included on the standard edition of Now 3
Ray Parker Jr. : "Ghostbusters (Searchin for the Spirit)"
Culture Club : "The War Song"
John Waite : "Missing You"
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark : "Locomotion"
UB40 : "If It Happens Again"
Tina Turner : "What's Love Got to Do with It"
Bronski Beat : "Why?"
The Style Council : "Shout to the Top"
Phil Collins : "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)"
Giorgio Moroder & Philip Oakey : "Together In Electric Dreams"
Julian Lennon : "Too Late for Goodbyes"
Status Quo : "The Wanderer"
Thompson Twins : "Doctor! Doctor!"
Queen : "Radio Ga Ga"
I think you can get some serious money for it - a Now CD collector would be interested.

None on Amazon or Fleabay - so I am not sure.
Funny cover, might be an antique!

Try entering the barcode on and see what comes up?
Must be pre-barcode...
what do you mean tracks aren't great, I had that album, oh so long ago, Ghostbusters?!!!!!!!!!! Gee what more do you want, man?

True. I must admit I do love a bit of Ghostbusters!

Not 118 118!

Hi, i just saw your post so had i bit of a look and i to have this cd.So a quick google and found a post on the im new here and have no idea how to link. It states cd 4 was the first cd in the series and mint copies fetch upto£ i would keep hold of your copy because not so easy to get another one

sorry edit yes this was the 1st one relesed onto a cd

The disc is in absolute mint condition. The sleeve is in nice condition and the cover looks like it's 25 years old!

Great link. Thank you. Interesting, as I picked up Now 8 and Now 10 also.
Wow £500! Thats a little gem you found there. :w00t:
OP.... You cannot sell this.... The value on these is going to rise even more in years to come....

Start collecting the rest to match now :)

I collect all things 80's, I have hundreds of Picture disks, Singles and Albums and I would not part with any...

Defo hold on to this....

Interesting read below:

NOW! 4 Mega-rare and worth an incredible £200-£300 in it's original case (if you can find one) although one was recently bought for an unbelievable £425...! This 16 track single CD was brought out along side it's double 32 track vinyl counterpart. Cat.CDP 26 04082 - (Tip - Look for 'Patent Pending' on the back of the jewel case)

NOW! 8 is worth anything up-to £120. This was the next in the CD release sequence as 5,6,& 7 were never available on CD (although rumor has it a NOW! 5 on CD was at a record fair with a price tag of £795...!)

NOW! 9 Just as valuable and rare as Now 8, but now we're cooking on gas now as the CD revolution had begun and vinyl sales began to drop. Only 16 tracks on this single CD.

NOW! 10 Although still very rare and valuable there are a few of around unlike the previous three. £40-£60 should get you a nice copy. This was the first in the series to 'double up' with 2 discs in the old style 'thick' double jewel case.

I am torn! Do I collect the rest?! or do I do the right thing and sell to a true Now CD collector?

The money would be handy - although I still find it difficult to be someone would pay sooo much money for a CD!
I would sell, thats just me, I am too impatient!
The problem with collecting anything (including shares IMO) is you rarely sell them and therefore never see the profits.

If there value is rising you hold out for a little bit more and then when they drop you missed out. If they are dropping in value you hold on to them to rise again and then end up in the first scenario.

You have to be very disciplined and sell at a target price regardless of what the trend is doing.

I too would sell now and enjoy the profit.
It has the Reflex on it. Therefor you cannot sell it. :P
Ahhh....Thompson Twins, my first concert (was the Dublin concert just before they broke up and cancelled the tour) and got to meet the band afterwards too. them were the days..
Now 4 - With a cover to make swine flu look cool!
this must have to go down as one of the car boot bargains of the decade
