Yeh it's been over 3 years since I have and then it would be 1v1 with a crowd. Them been drunk helped i managed to sneek round an earlier corner into someones drive instead of the obvious pathway he thought I went down.

Mate went the wrong way when we walked into them he's gonna have a black eye. We are not sleeping for a while I still have way too much adrenaline in my body (poor spelling)

have you reported it just in case they go after someone else and that person isn't as lucky? 10 in a group look as if they mean business and I'd hate to read that someone was severely injured or even killed.

You should at least take a lot of comfort in the fact that:
1. Those cowards think that being in a group gives them some sort of extraordinary superpowers, which combined with the stimulants they probably take, is likely to lead them to disaster at some point soon.
2. They are cowardly enough to think that university students and people on uni campuses are easy pickings, which makes them opportunistic low-level criminals who will not survive long in the big bad world.
3. You will always be better than them, and they know it.

I also think that you should report it both to the police and the university, as the student union may decide to publicise the incident in order to warn students and others to take the utmost care and be on their guard. Even if you think that the police are unlikely to do anything, I would still strongly recommend that you report it as, for example, in the recent past there have been numerous attacks on students at other universities (eg. Reading), and extra patrols and security may well be necessary.

Yup I reported it to the security because me and my friend got split up and I got back first so I called security to report it. They said they'd call out the police and there's a good chance they'll find them because in keele you can't hide very well there's only 1 road through it.

Hopefully they'll get caught but it has brought me down to earth that the world isn't perfect as it's seemed recently.

I'm so glad that you and your mate are ok but you hear so much nowadays of people being attacked and killed. There was that story about the guy who had just come back from either Iraq/Afghanistan and was killed 7hrs later in a fight!

Night x

And very good points over the knee it's completely true. They'll get what they deserve soon enough. Both parties probably know by now and we will see if it makes it into the news we've had previous events this year but only about 2 major ones
#11
thought sheffield uni was supposed to be safest uni according to their prospectus :?

edit: you said one of

the guy was never my bf we just went on a lot of dates for like 6 weeks, he didnt provoke those lads either him and his friend just left a nightclub when it happened and they got picked on, they were slightly drunk so couldnt really fight back police was called to the scene and they statements etc
poor guys felt so bad cos he was supposed to come to mine that night but his friend really wanted to go clubbing and i told him i didnt mind so they went he said he regretted going out but who was to know that would happen!

Yeh I think I remember that story or maybe it was different. I think somebody asked someone to put a cig out in a pub/club and they stabbed or shot him :-(

Sounds terrible, poor guy. It makes us seem quite lucky in repect to what could of happened. I don't blame security because they generally do a good job they can't be everywhere specially at like 1:30am! Last time I go take random photos in the night because I'm bored lol

Yeh guys don't tend to pick on girls so much it would of been better if I was drinking and had my 35 block mates with me then it would of been a fairer fight. Well they wouldn't of done anything then...

Anyways like 2 hours later I've calmed down and can sleep :-)

I'm out people night night all xx have a good night :-)

Also even though I know that in theory we should all have the right to enjoy our possessions in any way we see fit, perhaps you shouldn't display something attractive to steal (your camera or camera-equipped mobile), particularly that late at night.

My camera was Hidden in my back pocket and phone in my other pocket and they didn't see I had anything :-) we were coming back because I ran out of battery it was just for fights purposes I think :-)

All the way in hawthorns and only 1st yr moving into lovely Stoke on Trent next yr tho lol is barnes nice? Probably gonna go for that in 3rd yr too :-)

Are u staying for the pendulum dj set thing?
#25
Where ive come from your considered a Pussy, Pathetic Spineless BOY if you step to another man with more than 1 of you, but for years now its become popular culture for this insecure GROUP mentality going around attacking people and it actually makes them feel good, Just like society as a whole in my opinion its all UP-SIDE-DOWN.
1 Like #26
lindsay is the nicest place to stay, though the bars way more expensive (i lived there first and half of 2nd year)

but barnes is close to the pig! which is amazing

as for the pendulum dj set no idea, half my friends have left

hahaha and i wouldn't want to live in stoke! you will have to put up with the accent even more than here

Well it's Hartshill so could be worse it's a 10minute walk to Newcastle. Nice house tho :-) I haven't actually been in lyndsay bar walked past it tonight and it looked rather good. Beats templar hands down! I wish I could of stayed on campus but this year they've let no second years back :-(

I dunno if this pendulum set will be good but I guess I'll go and see if it's good. Probably get the safety bus back just to be safe ;-)
#28
everyone complains about pendulum, i'm pretty indifferent (i just want to go cause it's one of the last nights out here!)

The overriding factor for me is drinks prices.
Lindsay is usually 2.50-2.70 a pint!
Horwood is the cheapest (at usually like 1.70)
And templar/the pig are about the same, slightly more expensive? I seem to be spending all my time at horwood or the KPA lately

OH and if you haven't discovered the KPA yet you'll want to do that XD (its by horwood)
#29
The last proper night and it's free! :-) can't ask for too much more, well maybe a few drinks offers! Yeh templars around £2 a pint depending what type but it's not the best kept of places... I have seen the kpa and my friends talk about it but I've never been I might go b4 we leave, what's a good offer? And probably a stupid question they don't mind undergrads in there do they?
#30
i've been going to the KPA for a couple years and they've never asked lol so i doubt they care about undergrads, as for drinks theyre slightly more expensive than the other places but have alternative beers and the atmosphere is better?(or different?)

and if you think templar is bad you should see horwood, its literally a shed lol.

i've never been happy with templar since they got rid of the space invaders game, carvery followed by templar and space invaders was amazing
#31
Oh my friends gonna be gutted to hear they used to have that, he loves all those retro games lol the carvery is rather amazing it's just way to posh for students, I think the management centre can be blamed for that.

Might force my bruised friend out tomorrow for a drink there might even buy him a drink if I'm
feeling nice lol

anyways better actually sleep now! - good to meet someone from keele :-) I might see u around in the last few days you have here. Good Night!!
#32
lol its like 6.70 or something on keele card? (or used to be, i havent been there in a while), but it does seem fairly out of place with its poshness lol

anyway! enjoy the kpa if you go, and night =]
#33
Pretty much standard around here/

Good job on the running :)

And where I come from you're a **** if you fight regardless of how many people there are.

YEAH and now back to the real world Mr P.C
#35
Ah the old Townies vs students, shame that hasnt gone the way of history.

It happened to me and a mate whilst out in Newcastle, what the gang of six numpties didnt realise (nor did I as he was a recent mate) was that my meek chemistry studying housemate from northern ireland, was actually a super hard nut and to my shock he flattened the lot of the them.

As we walked away I asked him where he learnt to fight, he simply said "that wasnt a fight I was brought up on the falls road in belfast"
#36
dont bother telling the cops my mates a cop he told me yesterday there was 3 cops looking after the whole of doncaster they havent got time to fart
#37
I wish i had my hard block mates with me. And hopefully keele has a better police count than Doncaster :-)

I slept for ages last night!!
#38
dcx_badass
Ok you can go back to fighting in your council estate then, meanwhile I'll get on with my life which incidently has never involved a fight.

Glad you're both safe and sound.
Well done on running and having the presence of mind to evade the thugs.
I hope the police check the CCTV and contact them.
