To answer your question, Sort of, The worst that could happen is the police tell you to remove the plate and replace it, As long as you aren't obstructing your number plate i think its ok. (i think!)

Make sure the spacing and stuff is prefectly correct...

Also, with that plate you'd still need to display the white oval "GB" sticker when driving in the EU whereas if it had an EU logo on the left with GB underneath then you wouldn't have to.

Nothing wrong with the border, but you might have an ID crisis, seen 4 of them on the M25 last week, guess it is the lastest thing to have on your car.

Not quite true........the worst that could happen is you could get fined, and then the DVLA can take the number plate back and force you to display a Q plate on your car. That goes for anyone that displays an illegal number plate, whether it be the type of text or spacings etc.

thought i'd go for a bit of colour on my plate, because i needed a new one, rain has seeped in on my plate that i have at the moment making it barely readable, surprised i haven't been pulled over yet.

according to the website that i'm getting it made from, the options of border n eng sticker and all the other features are legal options, so i'm hoping its right. If you believe anything to be law breaking on this plate other than the number, can you please advise so i can email and get it altered

its called " number plate fails to conform" £30 fixed fine , plus your given the opportunity to make your number plate legal. Any mis-spacing , font , or even font size, same goes for motor bikes too!! will make you fall foul of the law, also if the OB take a digital of the offending plate, could be they are sending it to DVLA who as mentioned will take the plate back off you and there is NO refund... Happy motoring :w00t:

as far as I am aware as long as the actual letters are sans serif, equally distanced apart and all within a certain block size (no one letter takes up more room than another) then you should be ok.

Though I have heard of some with flags on failing their MOTs, suggest you ask a MOT testing centre.

Yes, Don't take your car in for an MOT in Scotland with an English flag and Vice versa.
Oh and if its a welsh flag you're BÚggered in both (no pun intended! :-D )

If I remeber correctly, the flags have to be in a certain format/style. But as I said before go ask someone before buying or fixing it to your car.

is your reg 4R53 or 4R 53 or 4 R53 ?if it is like i suspect, and im prob wrong, 4R 53 then their is a required spacing needed between the R and 5 which is slightly larger than the other spaces, check your documents

4R53 = Arse in number plate language, i dunno if anyone owns this or if anyone is allowed to own and use this, would amuse me to see it on a car though...

kinda wishing that i never requested the ENG and logo because it will make my carr look chavy :( oh well!
