O2 Broadband - Possible to beat the system?

Happy Easter all,

I am a happy O2 broadband customer, and my 12 month contract is nearly up. I have e-mail them and asked if they do any offers for a contract renew, they dont.

"Thanks for getting in touch about your broadband account. We currently have no offers running for existing customers. If you were to cancel the account you would not be eligible for the Quidco offer as you would not able to start a new contract for 6 months. I hope this answers your query. Kind regards "

I am thinking about cancelling my account, and getting the wife to sign up, do you think this would work?

Cheers,

JP

just phone and ask for cancellations for you mac code. you will most likely be offered a better deal to stay.

yup & once you've got your mac code you don't have to actually use it so if they don't offer you anything you can just stay anyway if your happy - nothing to loose reallly.

They are probably as the same as any company, eg Sky Where you ask them for any offers for existing customers but nothing... as soon as decided you wanna "cancel" they come up with all sorts :w00t: and of you ask you wife to start a new contract just make sure she does it with her maiden name.. and not married name :p

How much are you paying now ?

it's a system easily beaten. just use a large stick or failing that, take advvantage of beunlimited, which is o2 but with a different name, with whom you can switch over your connection without losing a minute's access. just get your mac from o2, use it to sign up with be vai quidco/topcashback, save loads ofmoney, and switch back in a year's time.
