I'm on o2 nearly 4 years, paying 35pm and my contract is about to expire.
O2 offered me a blackberry bold (refurb) and 1200mins/1000txts with unlimited blackberry mail and internet.
all my bills are above £50 (international calls) up to £80
why I'm happy with inclusive allowance, I don't want a refurb bold (wanted brand new one)
anyone else thinks that's a poor offer? any good deals out there ?

Best thing is to dial 202 free from your mobile, and speak to retentions, tell them straight that you don't think the offer is good enough, especially since you do so much business with them for 4+ years and dial internationally, and threaten to leave to Voda, since they have the roaming deal going on for this summer time. They should be able to offer you something MUCH better!

was it the sales team or the retentions department that offered you this offer?

If you know any friends that work for a big company some places get 30% off contracts with o2 just check with o2 to see what companies it is as the guy told me in the shop but cannot remember.

Personally looking at getting an iphone but waiting on the Apple confrence to see if their is a new iphone coming out as my current contract doesnt finish until the middle of August but the good thing is that I know I can get 30% off any o2 contract if the retentions team dont offer anything decent as dont think they will match that offer

Here are the o2 tariffs for the iphone 8gb and 16gb
http://shop.o2.co.uk/promo/iphoneindex/Pay_Monthly/3G

* How long is the contract they offered? 18 or 24 months

Their are 2 £45 tariffs

I would say it isnt a great deal considering they are charging you for the handset as you can get it free from their site depending on what contract and size of phone you want

Was it retentions you spoke to?

£44.05 for 24 month contract which gives you 1200 mins, 500 txts and unlimited data
8gb and 16gb phones are both free on this contract

£44.05 for 18 month contract gives you the same minutes ect
8gb phone is free and the 16gb is £57.74

it's always the way that new customers get better deals for some reason rather than looking after existing customers that have been with them for years.

If you decide to phone again make sure you use the option "thinking of leaving" then ask to be put through to the cancellation / retentions team as they have and are more willing to sort you a deal than the "sales team" that are on the upgrade line.

Just make sure they know your serious about them losing your custom and your not happy with being a customer for x amount of years and get offered bad deals to keep your custom. Think of a handset that you want and what minutes etc and how much you want to pay per month and see if they will cave or get anywhere near what you want

If you want an iphone as far as i know their are no offers as apparantly Apple set out the contracts etc so 02 cannot move on the package (thats what I was told by a few people anyway)
