I've just bought an iPhone locked to O2.

The guy I got if from has put in the request on the O2 site for unlock, but does his sim need to be in the phone for this to work ?

I know the unlock comes through itunes, but is it worked on the mobile number or the phone's IMEI ??

Anyone ?

Jailbreak and use Ultrasn0w?

Stick o2 payg sim in it, make some calls with it to register the number to the phone then try again and pay the £15.

Great, thank you for that. Time to get an O2 sim now.
