Ive only just renewed my contract with o2 but im looking to join another provider as the cap is longterm

Does anyone know what provider doesnt cap p2p?

i remember my friend on "3" getting like 600kbps while downloading torrents, he got a fair deal too!

Might want to check whether its changing for them all, usually when one phone company changes something the others follow, take unlimited internet for example, now its 500mb for most companies

There's been talk for a while (by most of the providers) about restricting p2p traffic as it saps bandwidth.

I would assume he is talking about fixed line broadband not mobile.

I find it ironic that ISP's promote 'super fast speeds' then restrict access to those that have the gall to actually want to use that speed. What is the point of having an 8mb connection if all you are expected to do with it is check emails.

Just spoke to my mate on o2 tech support apparently it applies to the new packages he's gonna give me more info tonight. If you are on Standard,Premium or Pro you should be ok.

Yeah, and I personally am a "hit an run" person, if I download a large file from somewhere like Megaupload when its done its done, the only thing that happens if they throttle th speed is the file takes far far longer to download so I am on using bandwith longer!

I get 1.8MB on the same source! But that 3.8MB above trounces both our speeds!!
