O2 Retentions

My contract is up on 2nd April. I'm on the £20 12 month O2 Simplicity deal.

I rang up last week to cancel and to see if they were able to offer me a slightly better deal, but all they did was rhyme off the current deals that are available to new customers. Poor show from O2.

Has anyone had any decent offers from them with regards to Simplicity deals?

I just chucked them last month, couldn't offer me anything competitive, so went to t-mobile...

you should have done the old "t-mobile are offering me......."

Doesn't seem to matter anymore, I tried that and all they do is reel off their current offers then let you go.

I kicked O2 into touch 2 months ago, they didn't want to compete with T-Mobile, waste of time talking to retentions, wouldn't even knock £5 per month off to match T-Mobiles price.

You normally don't get any good retention deals on sim only deals.

I found this about 10 months ago, 02 simply aren't playing ball. With my mum's 02 contract we went down to phones4u who offered a competitive deal and she stayed with o2, got the phone she wanted and a pretty good deal. Try them BEFORE you cancel with 02, see what they can do.

i had the sim only deal with 02 and phoned up asking to cancel it and they asked y so i told them i found a better deal and wanted a new phone and they offered me a really gd deal with the phone i wanted for free. i suppose it depends who you get to talk to thou

Ive always had o2 bend over backwards to help me. Last year when i phoned to cancel they gave me a free nokia 5800 and a £30 a month package for £15 a month and free o2 to o2 calls and texts.

That was then... this is now.

Things have changed.

Last year I managed to get £15 off a £35 p/m contract to make it £20 for the whole 18 months with a top of the range phone that I sold, unlimited texts as a bolt on, 600 mins and unlimited internet
Bit of a shame that people are saying they aren't competing at all this time over

does anyone know if its possible to downgrade the simplicity sim only 12 month contract to maybe 10/month?

i'm on the same sim only deal, phoned last week as it's up for renewal next week, they would not budge on the actual price but did offer me a phone upgrade (sony aino), thought this was a decent outcome

They gave me a good deal in March last year, like others, bent over backwards to keep me. but when I call ed up for my mum in May they were having none of it.

My last contract (sept 08) they offered me a really good deal, including a £15pm discount. I wasn't expecting to keep this discount when my upgrade was due last month, but when I told them what t-mobile were offering the best they could do was a similar phone for £89 plus £5pm more. Hence why I left....
