  You got to work out if you want an Iphone or not, if you do there are not many better deals out there apart from sim-free and a giff gaff deal.

  thx a million everyone ! yes i do need i phone, not bothered abt 4 or 4s! can anyone recommend any good deal, or may be a cheap sim only deal, again not bothered abt minutes n network(i hardly use 300-500 mins) and i can then go ahead n take iphone of ebay on paya as u go or something!

The guy in the shop said that people who work for the nhs, local council and some other organisations are also eligible. I also got a friend a 16gb iPhone 4 for free on £26 pm.

  unfortunately its on a 24 month contract, but you get 900minutes, unltd texts and 1 gb of data....on 02, the data is extra in the form of a bolt-on at extra cost per month. As for introductions,you are welcome to one, they have to be done in-store, with me present (wage slips and photo i.ds/proof of address needed by both partys).

  This does not take into account retention offers though, my retention deal was £37 a month and £160 for the phone (16gb 4s)for 12 months, 300 mins, unlimited texts and 500mb date which i never get close to using.)
  
  I also got £5 discount off of that for a delay in receiving the phone, so overall I am paying £544. The phone sim free costs £499 so I am really only paying £44 for the years contract. The phone will be worth more after 12 months as well compared to 24 months like most other contracts!

  I'm lost, how is that as bad a bad deal as people are making out?
  The phone would cost £499.00, orange et al won't pay much less and that leaves £170 divide 12 months; circa £14/m for 900 mins, unlimited texts and 750mb data and it's only 12/m.
