O2 WAP/MMS settings request problem

I'm trying to set up my Nokia 5130 for MMS and mobile internet (WAP?) but the O2 website doesn't seem to be wanting to message me the settings..

Is anyone else having this problem? If you go to this page and put you mobile number (o2 only!) and handset model in, it should sms you the settings for your phone. Not the case here.. I get "Unfortunately, we are not able to process your settings request at this time. Please contact Customer Service or your account manager to discuss further options"
http://getsettings.o2.co.uk/ServeSettingsWebApp/pages/home.jsp

If any O2 users out there could try the settings request and see if it works, i'd be very very grateful!!

Have you tried sending a text (free) to O2 for the settings?
Text "ACTIVE" to 2020..

Yeah, have been trying that since yesterday afternoon. Will keep trying this evening though. Really bugging me not being able to get internet though!!

The fact that both the website and the text method don't work probably indicates a system problem on O2s end but i just want to be sure it wasn't a problem with my phone..

use the phone *menu and look in extras maybe or just look around pohne options and use option or icon get settings
#4
You used to able to get the setting from Nokia, but I'm not sure if they still have the service?
#5
I have an even more infuriating problem.
they send me the text/settings, i save them but my stupid phone STILL wont let me send/receive MMS messages GGGRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! :x :x
#6
save the settings from message delete the message then switch off phone and back on and try
#7
It doesnt actually come thru as a text message that i can delete.
It just appears on my phone and says do i want to install so i say yes..

It then asks me if i want to send an mms that i tried to send earlier and i say yes. It then asks me if i want to send another mms that i tried earlier i say yes.
They both fail and it asks me if i want to resend so i say no.
I then get a text saying that my phone should now be set up and if i have any problems to text active to 2020 again or phone 08706003009!!!!

sometimes what will happen if your handset is not on o2 and say it was on Vodafone network then it sometimes wont send settings to the phone and you need to install them manually, which i think means you need to ring up o2.

what you should do once you have installed your settings, switch your phone off...then back on...create a new picture...goto send via MMS and put your own mobile number in...this way if it sends it ok and it comes back to your phone you know everything is fine.

Does gprs work?? as MMS will never work if gprs dosent work.

Sorry but how do i tell if gprs is working?

I just tried manually entering all the settings that o2 sent me in an email again, turned phone off and back on. Took a pic and tried sending it to myself and ..... nothing :(
"Sending failed" !!!!! :x :x
