The only downside is that the flights are with Thomas Cook so I won't be able to sit down for five hours!!

Have a great Easter everyone!

The hotels in Egypt are nice but there is shizz all to do there hence why the vast majority of hotels are all inclusive.

I went to a 5* hotel in Egypt about a year ago, had a good time but I'm in no rush to go back.

Egypt = not all that.

For any range there isn't anything of any interest to do.

Hes 17 i believe, could be wrong? We took my 15 year old niece last year, and one of her pals, and to be honest they struggled too. So i do believe what he says is true :)

I'm 17.

You can do all that shizz in England. You can do all that shizz at any holiday resort.

The suba diving is good out there. That's about it.

I have been to Egypt. I stayed in Luxor it was very nice. The hotel I stayed at was on the banks of the river Nile, facing the valley of the kings. It was a lovely hotel and had nightly entertainment. There were whirling dervish and belly dancers and a crazy pantomime horse that kept trying to chase me. Everyone you meet there wants to be your friend and they give you these little scarab beads to offer friendship.
Karnak temple is amazing to visit. You can see the lake of serenity and that place with all the pillars and walk around a fertility statue if you want to make some babies :-D
They are nice people. They expect to be tipped. So remember to keep some baksheesh handy. I hope you all have a great holiday. xx

They don't want your friendship, they just want your money.
Every shop you walk past they're are people standing outside say "come into my shop. We have very good prices. I can give you free gifts if you buy something". They all sell a load of tat.
Oh and a lot of them touch your hair.

I'm talking worse things than spiders,flying things..lol

It all depends on the type of holiday you want..
If you just want sun and sea, go to the 5star allinclusive resorts.
If you prefer to see Egypt, and what it has to offer, I can highly recommend the Nile Cruise.. Non stop activity.

lol its true they do want your money, you are right JFK. But i would rather have that feeling of being welcomed than say visit a hostile place where i am hated. I got lots of free gifts when I was there. I tied my hair back in bunches and dressed very modestly. I knew what to expect before I went . Did they touch your hair? maybe it was because you are possibly very blonde? that might fascinate Egyptian girls :)

My hair is brown.
I dunno why everyone touched my hair. Maybe it was my expensive haircut?

Anyway, I prefered Brazil a lot more than Egypt.

yeah there is more you can do there but Egypt is one of them places worth visiting once in a life time. I don't know why they touched your hair. I guess it will remain a mystery ;-)

My husband and I went to Egypt when we were still teenagers....

We sailed into Cairo on a ship.. i remember standing on the deck watching the land come closer... to be honest... it didnt smell too great but then lots of harbors smell like that...

We sailed down the Suez Canal

We went to see the Pyramids and the Sphynx at Giza

We rode camels across the sahara... and learnt the hard way that deserts get very cold at night!

We went shopping through the local marketplaces in Cairo and watched the street "magicians" entertain the passersby

We had many friends with us and my husband was congratulated on his "harem" by some of the local men!

We had an attempted kidnap attempt where some men tried to bundle me into some kind of sackcloth and push me into a vehicle.. it was a large beetle crawling on my foot that made me scream and we were given an armed guard after that!

Nothing to do in Egypt??

Like I tell my kids... there's no such thing as being bored, just being boring

Brehaut, have a lovely holiday with your family x x
