And i dont know what for !

My dentist referred me to a sedation dentist and when i get there they are going to xray me and then do treatment, even though i will be sedated IV sedation i'm petrified.

When i went for the consultation my dentist told them i needed 4 teeth out, but i said i never wanted them out as i dont want to be gappy and could they repair them, hence why i have to have xray when i get there

Suppose the xray will tell them the depth of the problem with the teeth like within the roots and stuff if they can be saved.
I hate going to dentist, not had anything done for about a decade now, rather give birth with no pain relief to be honest. Again,I think it's the thought that you just never know what actually happens and thats part of not liking to go as never know what to expect.

Hope you ok anyway.

What teeth are they, could just be wisdom teeth. They won't cause gappyness, thing about the dentist is its never actually as bad as you think its gonna be.

The end result is always far better than slow suffering. Good Luck!

Hi.

I've been sedated before for teeth removal... I guess they will xray you first, then discuss what the best thing to do for you is...

If that means being sedated before removing teeth (if that is best and what you want) then you are in the right place for the treatment.

My dentist never puts any pressure on me, but tries to inform me of the options so that I can make an educated decision. SOmetimes unfortunately my purse strings also decide some of the finer points.

Good luck -

Thanks for the replies, cab is coming for me at 2:40 appointment 3:10

Not sure what teeth they were, he just said tooth 27, tooth 38 means nothing to me :-D

No matter what i need done i will be sedated as i cant have treatment done without being sedated :whistling: just never been sedated before so abit uprehensive, even though the surgeon said i'm awake but wont feel anything

I used to cry at the door before I entered the dentists. My mum would come and hold my hand, and I'd tremble and feel sick.

Now adays I can take myself. I have faced my fear - and I think having the children has helped me put on a brave face.. then I realised that it was anywhere near as bad as I imagine it to be.

Dentistry has come a long way the last decade or two. The tools are finer, and the dentists are well trained.

I even had root canal treatment without any injections last year - and for that I feel proud.. I've come a long way too.

I hope you are ok. Remember to breath in through your nose and out through your mouth - slowly. Also it helps to fix your eyes on one spot or picture and stare ;-)

Good luck

Dunno not tried it,but just had a touch of the gas air stuff last time and I don't think it makes much difference really, specially amount I had so figure be easier.... I'm just mega scared of dentists that's all so anything better than going really...

I gotta take my eldest to dentist tomorrow,I've had my check up last mth,I am nervous going in there and it's not even me going. I probably start getting otu of breath and raised blood pressure so as I enter the waiting room.

God,and I expect they didn't tell you that either.

My partner chipped some of his front tooth a couple mths or so back, the fork did it,I'm not sure how... anyway went for repair and all,he said he was sore for a few days where injections put in,probably wasn't told this be the case, reason I don't like going, they don't inform enough.

Damn right !!!!

Just got back and it' weird, he said i had 3 back teeth removing, 1 a wisdom and there was a 2% chance that my face could throb forever, so told him to leave that, also another tooth at the back he said there's a slight chance of repair and to try and repair it soon.

The strange thing ism once he inserted the drugs, he told me to get off the chair, then it was home time, i keep asking if they removed the teeth my escort said they did but seems to quick

hehe I always use my tongue for internal investigations! ;-)

You sound just fine apple - well done!
#23
Yeh you seem ok then, obviously don't remember anything, thats a good thing!
#24
Remember covering my eyes when the sedation needle went in my hand, then the next thing i was in the recovery room, liked to know how i got there lol, dont even remember the surgeon or nurse working on me.

Looked in the mirror and both teeth have gone, i'm amazed and now i can wait until the next treatment as hopefully now i can get my teeth sorted:thumbsup:
