in 2 weeks time on my honeymoon.

Can anyone recommend any good things to do, attractions to see? Places to eat. Or in the alternative, places to stay away from!

I've heard good things about their steakhoues over there! Anyone recommend me one?

Thanks in advance you good people :)

My mum & dad went earlier this year & they said the grand canyon was fab, also they went horse riding (which surprised me as you'd never get him on a horse here) & loved it & would do again if they go back!! :)

I was married in Vegas and I've been there a few times (although not for about 10 years). As I recall:

1. Flight over and to Grand Canyon was very cool
2. Revolving restaurant at top of Stratosphere was expensive, but well worth it.
3. Use the hotel gambling tutorials and risk trying the tables. On our last night there we won the cost of he wedding back.
4. avoid any of the cheaper 'all you can eats'.
5. check out Fremont street

Helicopter flight through the grand canyon is ace :)

If your adventurous, hire a car & take a trip through Death Valley to a place called Zion - another lovely place (straight out of a film !).

If your gambling, the casino give you free food & drink.

Plenty of "All you can eat" offers, last time I went, they were $4 (£2 !!) and were great value.

Just back from Caesars Palace - Amazing, plenty do do there.
I went to Mama Mia at the Manderlay bay hotel - Great show
Also saw American Allstars at the Statasphere - a bargain show for only $20
There is so much to do and see, all the hotels are amazing.
There is a half price tickets shop on the strip, with lots of amazing deals, here is the link....

When/if you go to Stratosphere for the view be wary if you intend to walk to and from the monorail as we got a bit lost and found ourselves in a very dodgy looking area.

Make sure at least once you do a complete walk of the strip to see all the casinos. Find a map as a monorail runs from the MGM up over and from the Excalibur down.

Loads to see for free like the Pirate stunt show at Treasure Island, the Bellagio fountains, Caesars King Neptune animatronic show (in forum shops), Fremont street lights and the lions at the MGM. Beware of pickpockets though if your in a crowd.

Steakhouses Ballys seems to be the most recommended. If fast food is your thing then the NY-NY is pretty good as it has themed burger places and malt shops selling stuff like 'chilly cheese fries'.

The Bellagio Hotel buffet restaurant serves up just about everything, gorgeous sea food, steaks, desserts etc and was fantastic value. We went there about 7 years ago and it was certainly a highlight of our trip. Make sure you go on a very empty stomach!! Beautiful surroundings too!

Bellagio Buffet
Voted Best Buffet by Las Vegas Review Journal Readers 2007.

All you can eat buffet. $26.95 Monday to Friday, $28.95 Saturday and Sunday.

The Buffet at Bellagio offers you a variety of food selections from Italy, China and Japan, as well as fresh seafood and traditional American fare. Live-action cooking stations assure that your meal is made-to-order.

Hi, we returned from Vegas in november and had a great time. I am a small time gambler so I found gambling in Freemont street cheaper than in the big casino/hotels. Minimumbet in Freemont street casinos were 50c :-D
Helicopter flight over Grand Canyon is worth every penny.
There is so much to see and do I suggest you form a bit of an itinery before you go. The belingo is a nice hotel, we stayed next door at Treasure Island.
Have a great trip

If you plan to go to the Retail outlets, check the sites out before you go and sign up for discount vouchers.

Also, if you plan to travel up & down the strip including to Fremont Street more than twice a day, its worth getting an All day Pass for the Deuce for $5... Well worth it.

The Buffet at The Rio (off the strip) is nice too, we enjoyed this better than Bellagio buffet. (free shuttle to Rio from Bally's)

OOO I have just remembered we had a great day out at a town called Virginia City. it is a few miles out of Vegas, but easy if you have a car. It is in the area where the Bonaza ranch was ( ask your parents about the TV series) There is a geniun old west bar there called The Bucket of Blood. Have a beer in there it has a good atmosphere and wonderfull views from a window at the back ( called 1000 mile view) also typical old west street with a good Chineese restaurant.
Enjoy

They've built a big walkway extending out over the grand canyon now, so you can see beneath you as you walk out over it..........

Stratosphere has rides that dangle you out over a drop as well.

Not Grand Canyon high but still scary.

I went to Vegas in April and its like nothing else on the planet.

This is the helicopter trip i did after a load of research on them, and i think it couldnt have been any better.

We were picked up by a limo at 6.30am. Taken to airport. Put in helicopter and at 7.45 were landing near the bottom of the Grand Canyon - FOR BREAKFAST! We got out, had a picnic breakfast and the sun was up and i can honestly and truely say it is the best and strangest place on earth. The pilot was great and gave us loads of info!

The whole trip is filmed, your actual trip not just a standard trip, with inside and outside of the cockpit and you can buy the dvd after! That also is amazing to watch.

You have to do the earliest in the morning as only two helicopters took off, and Sundance is the only company that has its own official landing zone in the canyon. We were at the bottem with 6 other people and we walked a good mile around the area!

The pilot said the trips during the day are very busy and there can be upto 50 people there at a time during the day, some the earliest one is the best! And at £150 each it was money well spent!

Oh and by the way the Sky bridge is rubbish! You see better stuff from the helicopter and the bridge was the biggest dissappointment of all. Very commercial!

If you book over there you wont have a chance. Plus they charge $469 at the door beleive it or not! You will have to pay a fuel charge either way at the desk, i paid $16 which is £8 but they do it on weight, my bro had to pay $24....hes taller then me!

Book right away for sure, then when you get the confirmation through thats all you need!

oh and i doubt you will get it cheaper, i spent 3 days looking when i booked it!

I dont know if this place is up your street but it is also great fun and i thought quite cheap!

It about a £10 taxi ride out of town on the interstate, perfectly safe, its not in the middle of no where.

http://www.lasvegasgunrange.net/

This also is one of the best. Both the taxi and the hotels will try and get you to go to the Gun Store instead as they earn commission from them. But dont as it is poor and they dont look professional. I spent half a day at this place above, spent £200 and fired 16 guns! Great fun! Though you can fire a hand gun for $10 and a M16 for £30 in a build your own package kind of way!

Also, if you want to go somewhere then use your heart as well. When we told taxis we wanted to go somewhere, they were like, no thats rubbish go here instead! They all earn commision from these other places so if you really want to go somewhere then dont let any of them pursuade you otherwise, we were persuaded once, not me but the taxi with my friends in front were, i was very unhappy about that, and the place was a dive, so go with what you think is right!

Some other things i reccomend:

If you like old school las vegas and can remember watching old films, (im only 25) then this is kinda cool:

Neon Graveyard: http://lasvegas.lifetips.com/tip/102597/las-vegas-tours/las-vegas-tour-guide/neon-graveyard.html
Quite interesting, will only need a couple of hours if that!

Freemont Street: http://lasvegas.lifetips.com/cat/61811/fremont-street-tips/index.html
Very good to see, very entertaining, but when nothings on its just like any other casiono lined street, good to say youve been though, would be like going to paris, and not seeing the eiffel tower else! Very crowded at night, beware of the pick pockets.

Gondola Rides, (through hotel!): http://www.venetian.com/GONDOLA.aspx
Romantic - good for your honeymoon!

The Stratosphere is a must - great views!

Largest Gift Shop in the world near bottom of Stratosphere, tacky but fun!

Also, have breakfast in a different hotel each day! All you can eat, all you can drink champagne, so very very cheap!

God can i just come back with you, its bringing it all back to me now!

Very nice, we were looking at Vegas, San Fran then Hawaii but it just started getting too complicated so we went with Vegas and then San Fran with Hawaii being another year when we can do all the islands fully.

That sounds like a great combo and Im sure you will have a fab time!
