If you had the choice which channel would all our games be on?

bbc- no ads
#2
bbc of course, better team, better commentary and no ads, although adrian from itv is making it better
#3
hate adverts so bbc for me,could be improved if they killed alan hansen live at half time tho.

Itv could do similar with craig burley.
[mod]#4
BBC. In the past they tend to allow you to watch Englands goals.
#5
bbc, cant seem to watch it on itv player online but no probs when the games are on bbc.
#6
BBC, especially after ITV's mess up with the ads on HD.
#7
BBC. The blatant bias is grating with ITV, although Jim Beglin is the best co commentator on any football show. Would like to see him replace Mark Bright or Lawro on BBC.
suspended#8
BBC mainly because of no ads although i do like Lineker presenting
#9
BBC as long as adebayor isn't punditing, i cannot understand a word, he talks too fast, is it just me? i can understand jamie carragher easier than him.
#10

Can't understand him very well either. Have to pay close attention just like I do with my doctor.

Just to double check, this is the official thread right?

Wouldn't want to be posting my thoughts about BBC vs ITV coverage in some unofficial nonsense thread.

Good on you.

BBC. I missed England's goal on ITV1HD
#19
ITV making the missable, still missable.

Their blunder was even worse than Green's.
#20
itv - alan hansen talks like he is drunk , adebayor don't have a clue what hes saying
lineker is just annoying
#21
big willy style
bbc doesnt go on about england as much as itv!!!

Exactly so :-D

BBC, better quality coverage all round plus no ads. Will not forgive ITV for missing Stevie G's opener for us on Saturday. I hope the culprit was shot at dawn.

Not sure about BBC's choice of pundits this time round though. In the past we had O'Neill etc who had years of experience in both playing and magaing. Now it looks like the BBC want to fund the sSummer holiday for the Man City players who aren;t at the WC.

BBC. I missed England's goal on ITV1HD

+1

Even more annoying, they kept switching from HD to SD and back again, so not only did I miss the first goal completely I had to watch the second in SD despite purchasing a HD box!

Oh well, other than that the coverage from both channels has been pretty good.

BBC 100% !!

Just had this reply from ITV after my moan!

Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding HD viewing of the England v USA World Cup football match.

An error by ITV’s transmission providers, Technicolor, meant that ITV1 HD’s coverage of the England v USA match was interrupted for approximately 20 seconds. ITV1’s standard definition coverage was unaffected.

ITV immediately investigated this issue and a preliminary report has indicated that the cause of the problem was human error at Technicolor, in London. ITV's Sport production team in South Africa, who have produced high quality coverage throughout the tournament, were in no way responsible.

Richard Cross, Group Technology Director, ITV plc said: “We apologise unreservedly to viewers for the unacceptable interruption to high definition coverage of the match. We met with Technicolor first thing this morning to put in place measures to address the issue and to ensure that Technicolor takes the appropriate action with immediate effect."

May I take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to contact us here at ITV as we always welcome viewers’ feedback

Human error means someone got excited and tipped a drink on the control panel when we scored!

BBC is the best, but ITVs coverage is a lot better than it usually is for football. I'm enjoying it and they have good little segments and the usual highlights or whatever put to music. I can't remember ITV being good at that in the past.

prefer the itv commentators but everything else BBC
