Ok where are people buying decent garlic from? I'm after a shop selling a bunch of LARGE garlic bulbs. Asda sell the large ones individually but the packs and the packs in Tescos, Sainsburys and Morrisons all are tiny. I don't know about anyone else but small bulbs of garlic really aren't fit to shampoo my crotch.

I remember someone at Uni once had a braid full of the biggest bulbs I've seen so somewhere must sell them.

He was actually Columbian and was more likely to be seen with a bong than a load of garlic.

Depends where you live. Try Asian supermarkets...or Asda do a big pack of frozen garlic cubes for about 70p and they are bob on..no peeling no mess.

I'll get thrown out of the amateur chef's circle if I use frozen garlic cubes surely?!

Been a few months since last I shopped at Waitrose but I don't recall seeing any as I usually make a point of looking in every shop I go in. Multi-cultural? I live in Hull :(

your local market

You should buy elephant garlic instead, you get one massive clove in a bulb.
#14
I think the garlic you want is called elephant garlic. If you have farmers markets or allotments nearby it might be worth asking there.
#15
i bought some from either lidl or aldi...

I for one am ashamed to be a member of this site right now. All the OP asked for was this to be a 100 post thread and you lot can't even do that.

Words escape me...

Ok I'm back and I have to agree with Jonny0435280, the disappointment is high when a popular subject such as this which has been officially endorsed can't get to 100 posts anymore!

As far as I know elephant garlic isn't quite the same as normal garlic so that's a no no. Black garlic just looks wrong! Haven't tried these budget shops Lidl or Aldi, I'll send the butler to have a look thanks.

Thats sort of what I was thinking. Lots of immigrants like garlic.

So I should be looking in all these immigrant shops that are popping up all over the place?? From what I've read all these places fail miserably at hygiene, as if to suggest immigrants are all dirty ****!!
