I didnt till you mentioned it, but from a few videos, it looks pretty dull (like red dead redemption).

I want gta england, with minis, double deckers and hari krishnas!!!!

I did read something in a magazine last month about a new site they had registered that hinted that it would be set in LA. Possibly revisiting San Andreas.

L.A Noire is NOT open world, Rockstar have stated this repeatedly, because it is NOT in a similiar vein to GTA, any comparision would only be made by complete idiots
#8
I'm not saying LA Noire is GTA I'm just saying that's what Rockstar are working on at the moment.

Calm down dear, it's only a game...

Yea, I also read it is likely to be set in la, Hollywood specifically

Some expert said it should be out 2012, but I'd take that with a pinch of salt tbh. More should be known after e3.

Suppose I should get round to unwrapping gtaIV soon.....

Rockstar should be doing UK regional DLC versions by now.

How was RDR dull?

The last GTA was superb say 8/9 out of 10. RDR in comparison 6/7 imo
#15
I didn't really got on with it, found it slow personally
#16
LA Noire has nothing to do with Rockstar North who developed the GTA, RDR games.

But Rockstar North are currently doing a PS3 project called Agent.
#17
because you've said "Any and all kinds of comments welcome! :o)"

I will tell you that gta5 is in my pocket

You're not the only one. Ride halfway across the map, shoot someone, ride all the way back. Exciting stuff.

Same here. Didn't finish it because it just got boring.

Vice City is still the best GTA game by a long distance.

thats what the camp fire is for (same as a taxi in gta)!

Loved GTA4 and also loved RDR but did find that the latter was a little sparse on stuff to do outside the main story.
#23
IMO GTA misses out on co-op, I'm waiting for saints row 3, played saints row row 2 for many many hours with mates
#24
When GTA4's multiplayer first came out I loved it as it was the closest I had gotten in a long while to my favourite multiplayer game of all time Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, with it's open maps and use of vehicles. It soon went bad with everyone using auto-aim and camping it into oblivion.

Improved multi-player and stuff to spend your in game money on would be my hopes.

Have you tried taking auto-aim off? I still play GTA online has been the most enjoyable multiplayer experience for me.

It was their first GTA with the rage engine next one should be much better, well I hope it is.

Gta 5 update : Take-Two casting call screams GTA V
Fresh evidence pointing to an impending Grand Theft Auto V announcement has popped up on the web overnight in the form of a casting call from Take-Two.

The publishing giant is on the lookout for five actors to portray a collection of characters that sound conspicuously like the kind of dodgy chaps you’d expect to cross paths with in the venerable crime-em-up franchise.

One bloke is described as “a liberal young male who believes in a conspiracy made by republicans to undermine America,” who stars alongside a “young female obsessed with sex parties, always dreaming of being a Hollywood celebrity.”

Also on the cards is "a white creepy man who thinks that technology is a poison against the wilderness and "a man-boy love activist who just got released from an Indonesian prison."

Chatter on a new Grand Theft Auto has been rife as of late following the discovery of a number of GTV V-styled web domains, not to mention the fact actor and funny man Gilbert Gottfried said on Twitter last week: "just found out I'm voicing the lead in grand theft auto 5!".

Sounds like it’s only a matter of time to us. Stay tuned.

cant be bothered to read everything so far so sorry if this has already been said but LA Noire wouldn't slow Rockstar down with GTAV because they don't have much of a hand in developing it (that's Team Bondi), Rockstar is mainly handling publishing and most publishing works happens after the game is made.
banned#35
"a man-boy love activist who just got released from an Indonesian prison." is James Pedeaston. The same James Pedeaston from GTA: SA & GTA IV
#36
Hope if they do revisit San Andreas that they approach it from a new characters perspective. I loved SA but wouldn't want to go back to the same neighbourhoods and similar characters with the same film influences and music as it would just feel like a retread. Maybe be a former Asian gang member or a beach bum, latter could be cool with them paying homage to films like point break.

I always thought they would be revisiting Vice City first with them doing current day as opposed to the eighties and making mention of old characters.

A listing on the official German GameStop website has shown Grand Theft Auto 5 as well as a release date.

According to GameStop's listing, which can be viewed here, Grand Theft Auto 5 will launch on January 15, 2012. The currently unannounced title from Rockstar may very well, if this information is true, make an appearance during E3 2011.

Rumours of a Grand Theft Auto 5 have been mounting after Rockstar registered several amusing domain names poking fun out of corporations -- like in previous GTA games -- as well as a possible codename that Rockstar are using to hire talent for the project -- said codename is Rush.

This is to be considered nothing more than a rumour right now.

LA Noire would not hinder any progress on gta 5 simply because rockstar are just publishing the game yea there is some input but the majority of the game is team bondi's work, they just wanted an established publisher

Would love a return to San Andreas though is my fave gta so far

There have been quite a lot of rumors and speculation regarding Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated GTA V (GTA 5) game over the past few months, including the confusion as to when the game will actually be released. Now it appears that more rumors have surfaced ahead of the E3 2011 event.

According to Andy Robinson over at computerandvideogames.com, retailers have begun listing the new Grand Theft Auto game along with some others – including the Resident Evil 6 title – for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which fits in with rumors suggesting that GTA 5 would be revealed at E3 2011.

Rumors are suggesting that the Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA V) game will be set in real-world Los Angeles, and have actual named landmarks filling the streets. Besides a number of job ads posted last year for what sounded like GTA V, analysts have also suggested that the game is well into development.

Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter said last year that he believed that the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise to be launched by the fourth quarter of 2012 at the latest. What do you think about the possibility of the GTA V game being set in Los Angeles?

I predict: We'll get a trailer at next years E3, with a 2013 release.
