Yes, I am officially a dummy...

ei8hty5iveei8hty5ive

For some unknown reason I never change my home insurance provider but change my car one every year.... Today I decided to see how much I can save switching provider for my home insurance and... I've been paying £500 too much for the last 3 years... I am so stupid. Please feel free to call me names!

£1500 over 3 years... It's enough to make me cry!

The moral of this story is to change your provider often, always keep and eye on your direct debits and don't be an idiot...

How can this be true, the most you could have been paying monthly is maybe £30

I just changed mine to the Post Office netted to £117,building and contents under £10/pm,just use comparison sites when renewals come in,dont give your hard earned money away to these people every year, guess you will do so from now on

Ya know, it just auto renewed. I know I know leaving it to auto renew for 3 years is plain stupidity but like I said, me is foolish.

My insurance company always puts mine up a hell of a lot each year, I then phone to cancel and suddenly they put it back down to what it was.

They just rely on people like you not checking their renewal quote and just automatically renewing

What I meant was, how do you know they were at a certain price. Insurance seems to have dropped in price this year for some reason. No doubt you have been pwned by the bastids though.....

Good point but no doubt I've been robbed blind but I have no one else to blame but myself. :(

So what were your old premiums compared to your new ones? You must have been paying circa £70 a month to make a £500 annual saving......

No it was more like £60 pm equating to over £700. The new cover with MoreThn is £210 Annual. Yes I am a dumb ass. This is the latest renewal price so obvs the previous wouldn't have been so steep but there's no denying I'm a chump! This thread is to remind me never to get lazy when it comes to insurance again!
