I wish, i will just send game back when it comes, its pre ordered.

ive not used vouchers for ages but why dont you say you got the voucher on a flyer through the door or something and tell them you wont be shopping with them again as its not fair that they are charging you when the code worked at the time.
#5
Are they allowed to just take money from someone's account after the fact?

Would threaten trading standards, they backed off last time the papers got involved. IF they have a problem with the vouchers they should link them to peoples accounts instead of making them free to use, you used it under the understanding it would be honoured.

Also if they wish to cancel the other they can do, they cannot legally charge you more then qouted.

its worth a try, all they can do is say they still want the money back, if they say that then might be easier to just cancel the pre order, i always communicate with them through emails rather than ring, maybe send them an email saying how unfair they are, if the codes are only meant for certain people/accounts then they should make them so other people cant use them. i use to always use a code when i ordered but havent seen as many around as there use to be, when they did the £30 off a £60 spend around xmas time i use to use this loads by openeing different accounts and never once they asked for the money back.

very are awful for this. They actually sent me a code for £10 off my next order - no mention of a minimum order value. I ordered something for £8.00 + £3.95 p&p = £11.95, minus the £10 = £1.95. Even the order confirmation showed this price (£1.95) and paid by debit card. Checked my bank account the other day and they took out £11.95! Have phoned twice and emailed too, but they just keep fobbing me off.
The woman on the phone was actually really rude and told me next time to ensure my order was for more than the discount as they were giving me the item and paying for most of the postage too. I pointed out that wasn't really my fault or problem, there was nothing in the small print to say I couldn't do that! Told them to put the money back into my bank account as it was taken without authorisation (I too thought they couldn't do that - surely it's fraud?) and close my very account. Not gonna hold my breath tho. Would never use Very again as appauled at the way they spoke to me. I know it's only £10 - but what if I had gone overdrawn because of that? Sorry for rambling - still furious with them! lol

sometimes when using codes they take the full amount then refund the code amount once the items been delivered thats how they have always done it with me if i payed by card.

Yeah - I thought that and waited - but item was delivered on the 3rd October so they have had a good two weeks to refund. When I called they tried to tell me it was because the item I had ordered ( £8 ) was below the voucher value ( £10 ). Just annoyed that instead of saying 'sorry - our fault', they made outI was the one in the wrong.

There are no bargains at Littlewoods without vouchers. Cancel your order and boycott if you are not happy.

Are you going to email them with the advice people have given on here?,i think im going to give it ago.

It's not like people don't know the risks with Shop Direct codes. If one is posted, someone always posts about the risk (or it just gets voted cold -- which speaks for itself!)

If you weren't entitled to it, you've probably still made an overall saving so pay up and don't use them again - it's not worth the hassle. I've used one once and I was nervous enough about it not working even though it was emailed to me. Their business practices are dodgy, just take your money elsewhere.

P.S. People complaining "they can't do this! It's fraud!!" -- you probably should have read the small print for the code before you used it.

I intend to - have already told them to close my account. The point is I was sent this code on my statement, the website accepted the code at checkout and the order confirmation email stated the lower price. There was no mention of a minimum order in my case, even the lady I spoke to on the phone admitted that. I paid by debit card and they took more money than I authourised them to - which could have left me overdrawn and incurring bank charges for all they know. They need to sort their advertising underwriters (or whoever worded the code) out.

This is why I posted my experience in this thread - to warn others. Seems so common on here I wonder if they do it and hope people won't notice or follow it up. Some companies will do anything for new business.
