My motherboard and screen were replaced last month on my m1330 by dell and the warranty runs out in March. Contacted them today about an extra 3 years and they quoted me £225 at a "special discounted rate" for the next day premium support or £150 for the hardware support (within 3-4 days on site) :-( I've always got it cheaper than that before so was surprised he wouldn't budge. I didn't take it. I don't want to pay more than £130 for 3 years next day....

... and if you log on to the dell site you can request a call back to extend the warranty. barter with them when they phone...http://support.euro.dell.com/support/topics/topic.aspx/emea/shared/support/my_systems_info/en/details?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs

It will definitely be less than the prices I quoted as the XPS are the so-called premium dell range and charge more. Also if you don't require next-day service, it might be very cheap. I'd imagine you can get 3 years for well under £100. If too high, ask for a 2 year quote....
