I did search and although there are loads of ds deals I could really find a review thread...if there is apologies!

my husband got one yesterday, the 3d is quite impressive but it makes me feel a bit sick looking at it, like when i read magazines in a moving car :-) he's obsessed with it though as is my 6 year old son. My husband got the football game which looks quite good.

My brother has one. The idiot didnt get a game with it. I was shocked by the weight off it. Didnt expect it to be so heavy. I watched the demo and must say it looked good. I felt a bit sick after watching it so not for me. Games look good on it. I wonder how long it will be before it gets hacked and they bring out a flash card.

I was skeptical, but had the chance to try it before lauch and I was very impressed. The AR cards show huge potential for gaming. My son got one and is really happy with it.

I wonder how long it will take? I also noticed how solid it was in comparison to the DS. I think they have shifted a few units.

Certainly will, I'm sure a flash card won't be far away if previous nintendo consoles are anything to go on

If you look on youtube they have the R..Cards working now with the old games so its only a matter of time before they get the 3d games cooking on them.
I didnt think is was that great really it seems to give it more depth more than 3d maybe its just me?
I will have to play on one for more time and then i could give a more informed opinion.

have a look

This was within the first couple of hours of release, But nintendo have said the console has a so called kill switch that will render the console useless with an update if they have been used to play copy games. How true this is or not i dont know i guess time will tell but i cant imagine them flicking some update out and risking breaking genuine paying customers consoles? I just dont know, Time will tell all sounds very intresting.
Hope this helps.

Good idea but it made me feel ill after five minutes. I also found that if you looked away from the screen then looked back, your eyes had to readjust.

I have one and love it. Don't have any games yet though (been playing Pokemon White and the games that come on it) I got a voucher from Tesco Direct for £25 off my first 3DS game but the list of games they have is pretty limited, anyone got any opinions?
Got it down to 3 titles, Street Fighter, Sims 3, Splinter Cell
I'm not usually into Street Fighter games but the buttons on the touch screen look like they might help me quite a bit (really bad at the 50 million button long combos).
Sims 3 looks great but I can't help but feel it's just a cut down version of the same game on PC, with 3D
Splinter Cell, haven't read a huge amount on it, seems like it's a typical Splinter Cell game though which can't be too bad right?

Nice concept, not a fan... eyes hurt and wasn't hugely impressed.

Seeing how some users say that it can hurt your eyes when playing it, i'm having severe doubts on the 3ds. Better wait till i can try it first.

Is it worth getting for a 10 year old? or is it better off just letting her use the DSi

ummm... I dont think they are allowed to play until 13 or something? It damages childrens eyes... Sounds worrying?

I have to agree its really good we got Asphalt , Rayman , Pilotwings , Pro Evo and Street Fighter I prefer the football / fighting games but have to admit Pilotwings is quite good .. You can adjust the 3d effect to what suits your eyes .. or you can play them in 2d but its still way better than the Dsi graphics .. plus you can play all your old games .. Anyone know of any good prices on a 16gb - 32gb sd card for it ??

tried it in HMV a few weeks back.....well my son did...... he was impressed, but he is 7

I think it's a fantastic bit of kit, unfortunately it agve me a really bad headache after playing on it for a while over the weekend, so I'm going to sell mine. I think it might be to do with one of my eyes being a lot stronger than the other.

It's a shame really.

I am picking up Street Fighter tonight as I was not sold on any of the other games. Pro Evo would be good if it had an online mode so at the moment I think I am just going to wait for Fifa and all Mario games.

Not quite sure if it was the 3D or the copious amounts of wine the night before but I had a pretty bad headache yesterday. I guess time will tell.

The 3D is pretty good. When I tried it in the shop I initially thought it wasnt so good as it was more "depth" but the video that they released on the console is VERY good.

Anyone know when there will be mario games out for it? That could be when I decide to get one

I dont know I am afraid. However, E3 is in a couple of months so they will probably give further details then...

if the 3d button is to high i can't focus on the screen, i keep it about halfway down and it seems to suit me just fine!

I am the same but with the 3D camera it really is unbearable all the way up...

I think i'm going to get one with pilot wings and either street fighter or ridge racer. anyone got either of them?

3D on a portable console? "Ew" was my first thought.

But the actual words that came out of my mouth as I played on it hands on for the first time were "wow" - with capital letters.

I'm gonna be 100% honest and say that I was very skeptical about the thought of 3D on the new DS successor, I imagined it would be tacky and we would end up needing some gimmicky accessories to be able to see the full 3D effect.

But no advert, no online preview, no nothing can prepare you for the feeling of your eyes beaming into what looks like another dimension.

Enough of me talking about the 3D, no words can give it justice... So, what are the games and the built in software like?

I've had it for nearly 48 hours, I have two games, super monkey ball and street fighter. I've barely played monkey ball and haven't even touched street fighter yet... simply because the 3DS is absolutely packed with software and amazing innovations that keep "wowing" me time and time again.

The 3DS' allows you to take 3D pictures, and oh my word are they 3D, especially when you take a portrait picture of someone, I guarantee, you will spend more time looking at how amazing the pictures look in 3D rather than time you take actually snapping away.

The augmented reality cards are also astonishingly entertaining! From using a virtual rod to fish, to shooting dragons that are appearing out of thin air. There is also another neat feature in the AR software that allows you to gather all the Miis' that you have and take pictures of them in and around the real space, including setting up poses and much more.

Honestly, like I said earlier. No review, no preview, no hands on demo will prepare you for the 3DS.

With all that being said, there is only one thing that I have been disappointed with... and that - is the battery life, as long as you have a power socket near you, you'll be ok. But be warned, do not expect it to last for over 3 hours of continuous full 3D gameplay.

I would give it a 4.5* star rating with the only down point being the battery life.

Go out and get one, I recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Pilotwings on the SNES was wicked!
#35
My 12 year old loves it. He like the augmented games. He put a photo of his brother on which now keeps popping up and he has to shoot it.
Well it saves them killing each other.
I was very sceptical but was actually quite impressed with the 3D.
Not sure which the best games are yet. We have street fighter and ridge racer.

Street Fighter 3D is amazing.
