UPDATED with More:

These pics are photographs from my grandparents photo collection that my Dad scanned for his family tree portfolio. ( I had to take a copy!) Remembered the mad snow pics so have posted them here to show you guys, as someone posted saying did snow really ever used to be 6ft high, and some folk replied saying no way!!

This was in and around Ballater, Aberdeenshire when my dad was a wee boy (that's him and his brothers and sisters and Dad in one of the small single pics) and my dad is 52 now.

oops just realised the last big picture was the un cropped one that had the two smaller ones in so I've updated it now!

yeah my dad and grandfolks often talk about these bad snow falls. my dad always said the best thing - no school ;-) think that's pretty much unchanged over the years!!!

We've not had decent snow in Inverness city for a few years now - only in the surrounding areas. And I don't drive. So my poor wee lads not got out in it properly before.

I bought a sledge when there was bad snow when he was 2 - the next day woke up - ALL GONE! He was gutted. He still asks when he's going to get on his sledge... and he's 5 now!

I'll have some of your guys snow pleaaaaaaase
