Old printer hp software can i use it with new epson printer?

Hi
For the last few years i have put all my photos on my computer using a program called HP Image Zone that came with my old HP printer.
We are today going to get a new printer but probably an epson one.
Will i have to use their software or would i still be able to transfer new photos from my cameras card onto the existing HP software.
If i cant use the HP software is there anything i should do before unplugging the old printer. All my photos are in a folder in my pictures so i hope this is OK. I have also in the last week copied every photo onto an external hard disc as a back up but again it is all on the HP software.
Thanks for any advice. Hope i have made some sense.

Your photos are still photos.
It doesn't matter what software put them there, they are still photos. ( Do they end in .jpg ? )

If you are just moving from camera to computer, you should still be able to use the HP software, although "drag and drop" should work also.

Why not take the time to learn the new software though.
As it's a new printer, the software is likely to be newer too, so may have more / better features than the HP one.

It won't hurt to try them both side by side to see which one you prefer.

Hi jumpingphil, you always come up trumps everytime. They do end in Jpeg so thats OK.
You have a good point there about trying the new software. I will put it on and use it a few times and see which i prefer. I mainly needed the reassurance that nothing would happen to my old photos but luckily i have saved them as well.
I will try and rep you but yesterday or the day before it wouldnt let me as you answer my questions all the time.
As usual thanks alot.
Just tried i have to spead some around first...lol
