On street parking, No return within 2 hrs- What does it mean?

Sorry sounds daft I know, but does that mean you can't come back to the same street or the same parking bay on the main road?
For example if I park on a long road which is broken off with roads going off it, can I park on another section of the road within 2 hours?
Many thanks

Would say it' s the whole road the sign covers otherwise people would just keep moving their car around.

I've always wondered too. I'd just not return to the same bit, maybe a little further up the road!!

And if you park for 30 minutes then go away for 2 hours then park again for 2 hours, what if a traffic warden sees your car after 25 minutes and 2 hours 35 minutes? They'd think you'd been there for at least 2 hours and 10 minutes (over your time!) but you'd actually have been within the rules.

there is a big thing running on watchdog at the moment about "no return for 2 hours" in various places-they say it isnt legally enforcable anyways and if you ever get a ticket for breaking this "rule" to throw it in the bin.

They have to confuse people to generate revenue.

Better go move the car to be on safe side :)

Don't throw a PCN off the local council in the bin if you break this rule though

I would say moving it to another street is fine, moving it up one space isn't.

it means that once you have parked and then moved your car you cannot then park for atleast 2 hours - id say along the same road not just the bay

I thought that might be the case as the parking spaces are enclosed with white lines, thus assumed that this was the area it was referring to as "No return within 2hrs".
However, just didn't want to risk it!

Salisbury has similar but you cant come back to the same zone so the street round the corner is no good either

How can it be the same zone round the corner? You can't park on corners so there is a break in the zone :?
