#3
Lol, i'd be happy if we get nil :giggle:
2 of our1st choice defenders out, club in turmoil, could be double figures for you today :-(
#4
no torres for us so unless he finally plays crouch!? who knows eh are you still playing for european football or does this result not matter?

really should keep sven aswell he will improve more next season if given the money and he does need to because your squad was poor before he came
#5
Nah, we cannot make Europe now unless Villa, Pompey and Blackburn get no more than 1 point and lmao, we'd get 6 :)
I wasn't happy when Sven was appointed but credit where it is due, lad has done well, and like all other Blue's, we're staggered. Oh well, never quite life at the Theatre of Base Comedy*

*Name given to Maine Road by Stuart Hall in reverse of the Theatre of Dreams :giggle:

ah well you should easily qualify next year if sven stays and gets rid of some dead wood and upgrades as they say
#7
Don't think Sven will stay though do you? Even if they decide to keep him he knows now how they feel about him. Shame, he's been doing a good job. He should go to Reading and try and sort them out!

What a great goal by your least favorite player Boydent!!!! Reading 0 Spurs 1 And Derby are beating Blackburn! Woo hoo!!!
#14
Yeah, cheers Guv :-(
If Bolton stay up, i will be so fed up, words will not be able to describe it, nor a darkened room full of naked ladies and chocolate help
As for you're lot, why did you have to win? Why could you not have let Reading win? :-(

Thats what we have been doing - but only because we wanted to leave it late to snatch 10th place off West Ham! :p We are cruel like that!

They played well today and should have won quite comfortably. Goal disallowed for offside that should have stood, but it was the dominance and passing that was good. Needless to say, they nearly gave it all away and let Reading back in. For once, that didnt happen.

I heard the 2nd goal was very harshly chalked off, sounds like your lot did well...........for a change :)

A wins a win! Hardly a celebration for us though!

My lttlun had a trial for a local team last week. Came through it with an invite to play the next day. Scored the only goal for his side in a 1-1 draw. The ref? Non over than Premier Ref Steve Bennett! The shape of things to come? :whistling::whistling::whistling:

To be fair, he did ok, but nothing special. The ref was ok too!:p

Everton fan hereee! =)

Looks like 5th is ours, althoughh we still have 2 tricky games so not over till the fat lady sings so to speak.
#19
Yay :) well done, to the mini-Guv, well done, to the mini-Guv :)
That's really good news
Well, at least it shows more of a side of what the refs do, it's not all the life we think of, nice to see them down at grass roots level.
He did ok, i bet that's not how you really feel you daft sod

He he.. yes he did get a lot of encouraging shouting from the line! He did enough to get into a couple of tournaments for the next 2 weeks, so really pleased for him. It did however show me that there are some pretty talented players at his age level. Players that are better than he is.

Steve Bennett lives in my home town. Didnt realise until I just googed, but it was him that sent off Mascarano against Man U recently. Fair play to him!!!! Apparently he ref's in matches for the club a fair bit and is also the club president.

A lot of encouraging? Care, dare to share any of your comments? :p
It's so good to hear from a proud dad who can give a good impartial comment on youth football, all we hear is how bad the state of the game is. Mind, in saying that, wonder how many of these other kids could play for other countries?

Nice to hear Mr. Bennett is doing so well. Would be nice if MOTD shown summat like that, rather than giving ref's the stick they do

Nothing bad! No "take him out" or things like that! It is 7 y/o's we are talking about!!!:whistling::-D

Na, just general advice on what he should be doing eg pushing up, looking for space. He's certainly got the importance of marking - though not what to do for the best when his man gets the ball! It'll come. One thing for sure, playing in a match is definately a lot harder than their practice sessions! Lack of time and a bit of panic always seems to set in - for most of the kids!

I'll sure he is not alone on this! But fair play and nice as you say to point to some nice things out about the bas**** in black! :-D
#23
Nothing bad lol. You sure? I've heard local park football can get a bit tasty :)
Finding space is good, as opposed to being able to put a face flannel on all the kids when the just chase the ball, we've all done that. Yeah, as you say, it'll come, i really hope so. Ask him can i have his autograph in case he makes it big, i can retire off that :)

You'll be able to retire of his wages and endorsements, now, get the lad a pen and paper........

Did you see the Keane goal BTW? I missed it on the big screen! Did it look good? The finishing was good - but its what happened before that, that stood out for me.
#27
I *watched* MOTD twice, and cannot remember any of the football, honest Guv, pardon the pun.
I'll have a look at the highlights on the Sun's website and i think Virgin have them too. Someone posted a link to them......still got your bore draw against Bolton but will update in the week no doubt

Just noticed, tis Milan Derby today.......

Edit, would you believe it, just gone to Sopcast and they're showing the goals from weekend and it has *just* shown that one's goal. Yeah, tidy composed finished, stroked not blasted into the corner right across Hannermann. Not a bad finish for him

It was a good finish - but it was what he did prior to scoring. He had won the ball and laid it off. Most players would have thought "Ive dont my bit" - but he continued to sprint to get to that position to receive the ball back.

No, what i meant was, i've given him all the credit he will get, i am not gonna heap praise on him, ner ner
