Online or instore?

This week are you going instore or using the online service for your food?

Pro's for online shopping (in theory):
Your stuff gets picked before a lot of the stores open so you would be able (in theory) to get what you wanted.
You don't have to knock into people, shout at people, queue for hours, listen to naff xmas songs or find half the stuff is out of stock!
You don't have to find a parking space
You don't get cold.
You can choose a time for the driver to turn up

Pro's for shopping instore..

You don't get "recommended" swaps
You haven't gotta worry what time the driver turns up
You get to listen to your favourite xmas songs
You can shout and scream and people for getting in your way
You can throw abuse at the store staff cos items are out of stock

So what will you be doing? My parents are still in the 80's so will be trying to fight the queues

What you do is add 1 item to your basket, then go to checkout, book a space, then close the browser.

You can then go back to it upto 10pm the night before your delivery and change the cart contents

It means you can still get the offers on at that time, but also have your place booked :-D

You won't believe how many people don't know about this, had some woman asking me how they can get spaces online the other day (i work in the suerpmarket everyone hates )

MSE has an article about it, but now you know for next year :whistling:

The supermarkets normally e-mail people to tell them the xmas slots are now open

i had an asda slot for last night and they rang 3 hrs prior to apologise and say they couldnt deliver and would have to cancel the order....i was blooming furious.

The said it was due to the weather. I appreciate how difficult it is but they could have come in the middle of the night for me.... we live out in the countryside on the edge of their area and personally i think they were busy and just couldnt be bothered with us.

Oooh, that's not nice. I've never had that happen, but one time they did turn up, I stood at the door and watched them do a U turn in the cul-de-sac and drive off. Didn't actually deliver until the next day, which was no good as I needed all the stuff for a party that afternoon. Never did find out why, and didn't get an apology off the woman in the store. Made sure she knew I was cross though.

Good idea, not a good place for a pregnant woman. You will need to give him strict instructions of what not to buy and to read the shopping list carefully
