Just tried moving my car off my drive to the garden (we changed the back garden so you can park 2 cars there....and my parents prefer the cars been there than the drive)

Anyways the drive is a hill...I reversed upto the top no problem....tried breaking and the car decided it wanted to slide all the way back to the bottom.....stopped just before the road (not a major one) soooo in true girly style Ive got my dad to try sort it out :)

drive isnt that wide neither......but car stayed in the middle....was really quite fun :)

hope people are staying safe!

least it was on the drive.....private property :p

serious though, I am quite a good driver, makes me laugh when I see the people going up and down the street completely over revving the engine and skidding all over the place! I would say its safer not living near them......I was keeping the revs down, it was when I stopped moving I just started skidding lol

Pretty mental around here, I'd only attempt to drive in this if really necessary, I have fun laughing at everyone else's misfortunes.

Already been an accident near where I live, Yes it was a lady driver before you ask lol.

She'd pulled out and span around, Someone then went straight into her, They couldn't stop because the snow.

No one was hurt hence why I laugh.

Sounds like you had a lucky escape.

I've had to abandon my car two villages from home as the hills around here (Derbyshire) are impassable to all but 4x4's and even those are struggling. I don't have a hope of getting my big old Ford Galaxy up some of these :(

But I have to admit at laughing at the site of an 09 plate BMW "The Ultimate Driving Machine" having to be pushed so that it could perform a U-turn.

Where abouts in Derbyshire you from? Round our part (Chesterfield) its not too bad on the main roads, its only really the estates that its bad.

Newton, between Tibshelf and Alfreton. The A38 was horrible around 11am - couldn't get through Hillcote as traffic couldn't get up the hill. Went back on A38 to Alfreton then an A61 - it took > 1 hour to get through Alfreton but got stuck at Westhouses :(

Not surprised you got stuck trying to get through Westhouses:whistling: Not exactly the beaten track, not that far from me as I'm near the Clay X side of town, surprisingly the hill down from wingfield to Clay X was travelling freely, normally its a nightmare with a miniscule amount of snow, especially for the stagecoach drivers

AS ALWAYS

Harlzter - I know that road and I'm glad I wasn't on it!

I didn't have a choice about roads; with Hillcote being blocked there was no other way to go and my theory was that at least Westhouses is a bus rote so it should have been gritted. How wrong could I be?!
