I found out a couple of hours ago that I left the freezer door slightly ajar for 12 hours, (damn you late night ice cream!), some stuff, like ice cream is like liquid and other stuff, like frozen peas are still hard, and the freezer is full of ice.

Closed the door now, I am a Veggie so there are no meat products, will there be anything wrong with refreezing stuff that thawed, such as waffles, ice cream, veggie burgers etc?

Do Not Refreeze !

Veg is fine as long as not completely thawed......nothing with dairy products in should be re-frozen as they already contain small amount of bacteria which will multiply.

defo lob the ice cream - when we went to India one of the key things my doc told me to avoid was ice cream because of all the power cuts they have it's almost always been refrozen - not sure exactly why this is so bad but I trusted him & avoided it.

Do not refreeze ice cream as it will make you violently ill.

Eat / drink the ice cream now. It doesn't re-freeze well once defrosted.
Cook as much stuff that you can. This can then be eaten and/or frozen.
I would quite happily re-freeze anything else and have indeed done so on the three occasions that one of my daughters did the same.
Don't forget, when you do come to eat this stuff, you will be cooking it thoroughly wont you.

Now is probably the time to defrost your freezer too.

If you die from food poisoning after taking this advice, you can sue me. :w00t:

ice-cream - do not refreeze -- as the others say. i always reject the ice creams from restaurants that look like they iced over as a precaution, had a friend who was very ill from one of those.
