I don't know, but the Londoners who relocate, or come on holiday here, to Cornwall, seem to me to be more miserable than those from the Midlands ( happiest bunch IMO) or the North. Mind you I do try to avoid human contact, especially in the summer months, so it's probably best to ignore me!!:w00t:

What about us in the middle? :santa:
#3
If Londoners are more miserable, then its probally due to the higher cost of living for us down here.
#4
Im a Londener living in the North, I dont find any difference.

The humour can be different but everyone at the end of the day is miserable
#5
We are happy shiny people here in London... However, we are very busy and that could be misunderstood. :whistling:
#6
take a ride on the train to london early morning

god they are miserable, rude *******

a fit young person dressed in a suit wouldnt even offer their seat to a pregnant lady! well rude
#7
yh use londoners are pretty happy
its probably the thought of all those men and women walking about the city on a grey dull day that makes us seem miserable

There is no doubt, one of the most depressing sights in the UK is being sat on the London tube/bus in the morning. EVERYONE looks misserable. However, there are misserable ******s everywhere! :-D
#10
Now, you got me thinking, but i still think we are not that miserable; though, we seem to pay for the whole uk. we get taxed more heavily to compensate for the short commings of other parts of the uk. Although the tax rate is the same, more people are employed in london and the boroughs are not supported by the government so we huge poll tax to compensate. ... gosh i am starting to feel miserable now! lol :-D

I don't think we're that miserable...it's a stressful city trying to live a better lifestyle or make ends meet but we also have a lot of fun too. :)

I know there's a lot of miserable people all over the world, even in Cyprus, which is a peaceful tropical paradise, there are old women who have nothing to talk about, other than depressing stories of misery. :giggle:

I think there's a lot of happy Londoners...including myself but I do think Northerners are naturally quite friendly, although some are a bit weird...they also are over the top with there rules...which is why I was rejected buying cigs for my dad at the age of 26 because I didn't have ID....stupid "think 25 rule" lol

Yes there is nothing worse than being up close to the hairy armpit of the sweatbag dangling from the handrail beside you.

Hehe I've been asked for ID here in the London SUberbs age @30! You would usually take it as a compliment, but there comes a point when it's an absurd insult!

I don't think all southerers are miserable just some lol! Northerners seem to be louder.
No-one ever talks about us in the middle though!

What defines a Londoner or Northerner ?
I live in the Midlands, and to most people here consider a Londoner anyone who comes from within the M25 including Surrey, Essex, Kent, parts of S.Northants etc... In fact to most Midlanders a Londoner is someone from south of Luton !!!!!!
Where is a Northerner from? North of Luton?
I like Londoners the best (to me that's usually within North and South Circular) Northerners are cool Being half Yorkshire I have to say that. Midlanders are cool as well, but in different ways. More sarky than most I find.

lol, I know...I was saying to the woman "come on, I'm 26 years old and you've just admitted that I'm definitely over 18, which is the legal age limit to smoke but because I don't have ID, you're refusing to serve me. Come on...you're going to make me look like a fool going back into the car full of people and tell my Dad I was refused cigs, so he's going to have to buy them himself" lol

The sad thing is...I used to buy cigs when I was 14 years old but quit a couple years ago. :giggle:

At least the shop next door served me without any qualms.

lol, that's a good point about Northerners.....they seem to shout everything out...hold up...maybe that applies to North Cyprus too...as my family are loud as hell. lol

No one cares about people in the midlands...you've got the best of both worlds and are probably more balanced being in the middle...plus you can easily commute to either north or south without long travel times...you lucky $*@% lol

You're obviously visiting the wrong places. lol

London's a great place and very exciting providing you know where to go.

P.S I bet she didn't offer her seat but was saying "how rude of that young man...he should be ashamed of himself...now then...I'm going to continue pretending I don't know what's going on....because I've warmed up my seat and I'm very comfortable" :w00t:

Other people say that but as long as you go with someone clued up, you don't have to worry.

Maybe that's your local councils propoganda, so everyone doesn't migrate to London and the rest of the country is left bare. :giggle:

I live in the London Suberbs, it's called East London, but I am so near Essex, Middlesex and Hertfordshire all at the same time - lol.

I travel into London though - lol, so I guess I still think I'm outside of it!

You can have lots of fun in London, and there are lots of interesting people, but if you go exploring you have to have a mate or three with you to feel comfortable with it.

I find the friendliness when you slow down - walk places, and smile, stop and chat to people. I often go into a park and sit besides an older person and have a little chat.

That's true, this old lady started chatting to me about her dogs a couple days ago on the way home and after a nice convo, she seemed disappointed when I said I better go because I'm outside my house now" :giggle:

I'm from London and hubby is from Manchester. Londoners aren't miserable, just a little reserved with strangers, whereas, Northerners will talk to anyone. Northerners tell everyone they meet everything that goes on in their life, I'm getting used to it now that I've been married to my northern monkey for 8 years

probably, I just hit the normal tourist hot spots.

I always have to blow my nose big time after a day out on London and all this black gunk comes out. I guess londoners get used to it! :w00t:

Isn't that called bogey? :giggle:

Yes, we're well kept (well most are anyway) so we're using to cleaning our noses out.
Remember that it wasn't me that said Northerners don't clean there noses. lol
#35
I dont class myself as a Northener, Im from the midlands. but given a choice......northerners are more friendly from personal experience.
#36
I find londers quite miserable, but then when I go to the inlaws in Barrow in Furness I find them really miserable too. Friendliest place I ever lived was Leeds. Midalnds folks are nice enough, but them I'm biased as I am one.
