Challenge yourself to try and count the dots in the diagram below. Despite a static image, your eyes will make it dynamic attempting to "fill-in" the white circle intersections with the black of the background. Quite an amazing effect!

Instructions: Simply stare at the white circles and notice the intermittent blinking effect.

Are the lines below straight or are they curved?

http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg171/123music129/OPTICAL%20ILLUSIONS/0102.gif

Try putting a straight edge against the lines on your screen to test your conclusion.

http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg171/123music129/OPTICAL%20ILLUSIONS/1102.gif

For PS3 or PSP owners who are keen on optical illusions I'd highly recommend downloading the Echochrome demo - the idea behind it is that if you can see a path, then your player can walk along it. So basically you can use optical illusions to make paths that couldn't actually exist.

Stare at the four black dots in the center of the image for 30 - 60 seconds.
Then quickly close your eyes and look at something bright (like a lamp or a window
with sunlight coming through it). You should see a white circle with an image inside it.

What or who did you see ?

Colour Blindness Tests

The following are common tests used to detect color blindness.
Can you read the numbers hidden in each square?

http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg171/123music129/OPTICAL%20ILLUSIONS/colorblindnesstest.jpg

You should see 58 (upper left), 18 (upper right), E (lower left) and 17 (lower right).
If you cannot see any of the above numbers/letters, you may suffer from color blindness.
#33
In this optical illusion, if you follow the movement of the rotating pink dot with your eyes, the dots will remain only one color, pink.

However, if you stare at the black + in the center, the moving dot will turn green.

Keep concentrating on the black + in the center of the picture. After a short period, all the pink dots will slowly disappear and you will only see a single green dot moving in a circle.
