Hi All

I want to purchase some reaction lenses as Im due for some new specs.

DOes any one know how effective these are? The lenses are supposed to react with the sun and automatically tint depending on the light.

Do these actually work?

Thanks

I have had these for years. They are very effective and don't take long at all to darken, but they do go dark in all daylight (when outside) conditions, you don't really notice that they have darkened..

Thanks dino.

So would you recommend getting these? Or better to get separate prescription sunglasses?

I plan to get 2 pairs of glasses due to offers I see at the opticians, would you recommend getting one normal pair, and one reaction? Or one normal, and one 'proper' sunglasses?

Also what opticians you with? Whats the service like?

Sorry for the delay.
I'm on my 5th pair of reactions. I've always gone to Specsavers and I've never had any problems.
Next time I'm going to get my eyes checked by them, then order the prescription glasses from a US website posted on the Hot Deals Forum.
They are a lot cheaper from the US (I think it's the US) then order Reactions and prescription Sunglasses.
I never said, but the reactions don't work too well in the Car when it is really sunny, because of the tint in the windows.

Thank you,

I've decided to go specsavers and go for their 2 for 1 specs and have one of them reaction.

Plus they offer 30% off for students which is pretty good and can speak to someone in person and I'm not so knowledgeable when it comes to specs and features!

Cheers

I have tried several of the brands - in my opinion the Transitions are by far the best - measured by clarity when not in sun (or UV), time to go dark and vice versa.

They ARE more expensive, but you get what you pay for.
