Eeeeek!
this is my first appointment at the hospital, do they do any procedures the first time you're there or do they book you in for another appointment?

consider yourself lucky, I'm apparently a freak of nature and had 2 sets of front adult teeth (at the top) which required 2 operations, 18 months of a brace and 2 years of removable brace to fix.

think of the plusses, all day ice cream day tomorrow.

are you actually having surgery ie being put to sleep or is it just called a dental surgery?

my dentist at the hospital was called the dental surgery adn i thought i would be put to sleep but was just an injection in the mouth and then out with the 2 teeth

honestly it does not hurt i was petrified and was shaking like a life and when the dentist told me it was out i said 'oh is that it'
was sooooo embarrassed after making such a drama out of it LOL

As you know my man had oral surgery in June.

It went well and the surgeons know what they are doing so don't worry.

Do what I do and tell them that you are a "screamer" and can't tolerate pain.

They'll rub an anaesthetic gel on your gums before the injection and you won't feel a thing.

Dont want to put you off, but I had to go for emergencey dentistry at local hospital, the dentist injected me several times compared to when my regular dentist did the same procedure using only one jab (and he used the kiddy cream to numb my gums before) but tbh, after the first 3 injections the rest i couldnt feel so much as the first jabs were already numbing the area.

enojoy!

i had a filling a couple of months ago and had 4 injections with no numbing cream (i'm nhs, lol) the dentist accidentily hit a vein in my face and ended up with a huge bruise for two weeks :(

i had a wisdom tooth out at the start of the year and i was very very scared as i hate dentists, i was crying when i sat in the chair lol i must say it didnt hurt one bit, the injection was just like a little scratch and the actual pulling the tooth out i didnt feel. im now not that bothered about going to the dentist. i had a check up few weeks ago and he was cleaning my teeth and that hurt more.

Just got back and i have to have my wisdom tooth out because it's impacted and wont grow anymore as it's stuck :( they didn't even offer my a general anesthetic *sobs* so i have to have that done just before christmas - no christmas yummy food for me then :(
also got 2 extra appointments to have a bite plate fitted to help my jaw as i have TMJ.
ooo and he also said i need to go to the doctors about my hearing (i thought it was down to my teeth/jaw problems but obviously not) not a happy bunny :(
