U can upgrade when your contract with Orange will be in 16 month, but if you have spent little money,or payed only line rental-the offer will not be great. And they will force you in a 18 months new contract, which is not the best choice in todays so quickly changing world. My friend was offered K800 for free,or have to pay £90 for K850.Left Orange for O2 and got a better deal and free phone.:)

get away from orange whilst you can. If you stay with them they will eventually screw you over

Pfft shocking!
I at the time of getting it got my n95 free and then £50 cashback through CPW..
I am spending £35 a month on line rental but like previous months spending around an average including line rental £40 a month..
How far will that get me?
And i have to wait another 6 months?

Well, you will have to wait 6 months for sure, and i am in doubt you will get new N95 for free if u upgrade. When you get first contract they put best offers, but when you upgrade,-they don`t.And not only Orange. But u can always change provider, take your number, and have the best deal.Don`t stay on one company, move on-and you win!

Some inaccurate advice on this thread - in my opinion.

Firstly. Your 10 months into an 18 month contract. They have given you your phone so that your with them for 18 months. If your phone is broke, your best buying another one and using your contract up.

When your contract is up (and I mean completely up, not 2 months from the end) you need to be bartering with Orange. You will get a better deal at upgrade time than you have now. They want to keep your customer. I went from Dolphin 35 12 month contract paying £35pm to Dolphin 35 12 month contract paying £10 - and I got a free N95 too.

Oh don't take my word for it. Read 18 pages of success stories where people have got better offers at upgrade if you like...

You just need to know how to do it...

Just take the phone back to any CPW, They will repair or replace it without a problem

Well Rimi, I'm another 'lucky one' as I waited until I was a few days past the end of my last 18 month contract (£25 a month) with Orange and was offered the W910i, G600 and a few others free and the Viewty for £20 for the handset. I said I still wasn't sure so they said I got a 10% loyalty saving on my contract so it was down to £22.50, when I still asked if the phones were free for a 12 month contract so I could reconsider at that point whether to stay they offered me a further £5 off my contract if I took the 18 month contract. This after they wanted to charge me £50-100 for each of the phones above when I spoke to upgrades before the end of my contract.

So, I got the phone I wanted (G600) for free and my tariff went from £25 a month down to £17.50 a month plus I got my 4th 'Magic Number'. Wait until the end of your contract, use a cheap phone until then as highguyuk says, then you will get just about any phone you want for nothing if your monthly spend is about £40, plus you should be able to get that down a fair bit, insist on the 10% loyalty reduction and push them for more, but make sure you speak to someone in retentions, not normal upgrades!

Good luck!

With Orange you would have to buy out your contract so for example if you have 6 months left and your monthly line rental is £30 you would have to pay £30 X 6.

Then you can upgrade AND the phone you want may cost to upgrade
