Orange home phone set up

Was just looking about for a home phone line and noticed that as myself and fiance are on Orange then we can have the home starter package (up-to 8 Meg speed,10GB usage allowance, inclusive evening and weekend calls and a wireless router) for free.

I'm just wondering if anyone uses Orange for their home phone and whether its any good? Also do you have to pay extra to have a BT phoneline put in?

I'll probably give them a bell later but thought I may get some feedback first! Thanks in advance.

Hi Agent, Orange broadband works on your 'BT' phoneline ie not cable. So you need to have a landline for it to work on. Once you have this you can get your free broadband. I have had this for some time now with out any probs. Hope this helps.

A word of warning about Orange - a friend of mine had incredible problems trying to leave them. They signed him up for new contracts (3 times!) instead of cancelling his current one, they said he would have to wait 28 days for his MAC then promptly signed him up to ANOTHER contract. It took just over 4 months, lots of angry phone calls, threats of violence etc to get it sorted.

Do you still pay a standard fee to have that BT phoneline? There is an inactive phoneline in the house at the moment anyways.

Me and my sister have an orange contract, do you have a link to the free broadband for homes with 2 contracts?

I'm not sure if you do. I pay £15 a month for the higher one, and that is all inclusive, no BT charges

You can have the Home Starter package free with just one orange contract. It's a tenner off any of the more expensive packages then. I don't think having the 2 contracts makes it any cheaper again, I will ask them though! Will confirm if we'd have to pay the BT line rental too. My friends are thinking they just paid the connection fee to get it reactivated and then you just pay Orange (if necessary - whereas it's free with Home Starter).
