Hiello everyone,

just thought id share this call with you

My mobile contract is up in a few weeks and today i got a call from orange , The girl was a total b**** !! , she starts off with hello im from orange and i would like to offer you a discount of 10% on your bill for being a loyal customer , so il just add the discount to your account ,wow talk about fast and giving people no time to think . i said wait - is this an upgrade or a new contract ? the phone went quiet for a minute as she thought of what to say and then said we are giving 10 % off bill .

I said my contracts up in a few weeks anyway and im thinking of cancelling and going onto pay as you go . wow i then got this explosion of words
why do you want to do that?
why do you want the hassel of topping up your phone all the time ?
why do want to keep going the shop to put credit on ?
what if you run out of credit when your on the phone?
if you lose your phone or it breaks you wont be able to replace it for free
why ???

Im sure not all people at orange work like this but im totally p***** off with them

I've had similar, but it WASN'T from orange, but an Orange distributor. They give every impression they are from Orange BUT THEY'RE NOT. They're selling you a new contract.

BEWARE

Yea, from what I have heard they aren't any good.

My best mate was with them and they wouldn't replace his phone. First time as it would still switch on, but the screen wouldn't work proerly (he ended up tearing it apart in the store, and ended up with another after a while), the second he could get no reception, and was told he wouldn't have to pay his bills as it was a problem in the area (however he still got bills, and was told the service in the area was one of the best in the country).

Basically a load of liars.

I just hang up on cold callers, or sometimes i lay the phone down and see how long it takes them to realise i'm not there.

I always hang up on them too. If I want something I'll ring them, not the other way around.

I have had that a few times, and they often say "ringing on behalf of Orange" which normally you would assume means that they work for Orange (and hence their actions are on behalf of the company, orange). Alas not, so be careful.

Funny thing is I used to be with Orange and ported my number over to T-mob, but I still get these jokers calling me. I given up being nice to these people, rudeness is the way to go!

Im sure though this girl was from orange , as she asked me to confirm just first three letter of my orange password . could of been a con ? I would of thought it strange if she asked for my full password ( which i would never give ) but i never thought about it at the time

Also i missed off the bit at the end of the call where she said , well we wont be offering you anymore discounts again !!! cheek !!!

Just say, Hang on a minute, let me find a pen. Then put the phone down and see how patient they are. :p

How about having a list of questions ready by the phone to ask them first (just for security, of course;-))

I'm sure we can all think of some daft ones:)
Or answer every question with another question - good game, btw

She might get fed up with the role reversal, but the problem I have is I have no idea the sort of questions a woman would be happy answering.
Would you know the sort of things I could ask.

99.99% they are not your mobile company, despite what they proclaim.

Depending upon the mood swing I deal in several ways.

1. Test them by asking what tariff I'm on.
2. Tell them where to go in no uncertain terms
3. Tell them I would like to order 3 contracts, listen to them get wildly excited, then at personal details time, hang up. Of course they phone back immediately, then I pretend to have a dodgy line, and so on. Next I pretend that they must have the wrong number, and so on yet again. Only if you're really bored out of your skull mind.

The thing is, I maybe get 1 or 2 a year now since forwarding my details to the junk mail/cold callers bar list, with the only ones sneaking through now and again are the 'international' callers.

Do you have an imagination? :whistling:

I certainly do but at this time of night, after getting one of the kids ready for bed, with the other one to go shortly, I find it hard to think of anything other than a nice cold beer.
Do you "suffer" problems like that? ;-)
#20
Do you think maybe you are an alcoholic, lol?
(or just the onset of the school hols?)

I could understand if was 9 o'clock in the morning.
Do you think that me thinking of a beer at nearly 9 o'clock at night makes me an alcoholic? :w00t:

How often do you have these "alcohol urges"?

Should I be lying down on a couch for this?

Ahhhh. I think you are trying to trick me.
I have read up on your interests and now I know why you have latched on to my "drink problem"
I also think it is you who should be lying on this couch.

So, do you feel insecure in yourself. :whistling:

Not normally no.
I can't keep this up. I have to check my girls and then get my tea.
Do you think you will still be here when I get back.
