HI there,

I was reading a similar topic from some one else and I have a question.
I am nearing the end of an 18 month contract (I originally signed up through phones4u and got a free ps3). My question is, when my current contract runs out can I get a new contract from Orange (through cash back site or phones4u).

Also, would I be able to keep my number?

Sorry if this is a really obvious question - i just can't work out if your allowed to do it.

many thanks, Nicky

when you current contract is up you can leave phones4U, it shouldnt cost you anything and the PS3 and handset will be yours to keep.
You can transfer your mobile number to any new contract you take out with any of the networks from any of the shops (think you just need to request you PAC code), this request normally generates a better offer from phones4U offering you more minutes and texts that you possibly ever could need...

In my experience i have always got better tarif deals/handsets when going directly through the network provider (sign up with o2 as opposed to signing up to an o2 tarif deal through phones4U) but shop around and see what you can get..

You can't get a new contract and then port your old contact number to it(on the same network). That's known as a 'back door upgrade' and none of the networks will allow it.

You need to port your old number to another networks payg, start the new contract (with a new number) and then port the old number back. Yes, it's long winded, but thats the point the networks don't want you doing it. . .

Really. well three years ago when my contract was up with o2, i requested the PAC code and had a period of 2 weeks to use that code to start up a fresh contract with T Mobile.
No problems for me.
