Ok so my contract runs out with orange tomorrow. They have sent me a PAC code as i requested but i havent got around to using it yet. So what exactly will happen tomorrow? i presume my service will just stop? will i still be able to recieve incoming calls etc..?

Do i need to inform them that i dont want to use the PAC code yet or anything?

rep for all help.

How do you mean, cancelled what exactly? i requested a PAC code and was told my contract will terminate on the 2nd of september so do i need to give them a ring to confirm then?

Yes it will just carry on. If you don't transfer it by tommorow you will be liable for another months billing.

Transfer it now to a pay as you go sim?

I doubt it.
We tried that before.
It's another 30 days notice.

Although seeing as you're contract finishes i cant see why they'd need 30 days notice.. although I known they do....:?

I dont think they can port the number instantly anyway? You might have to pay another bill, have you not got a pay as you go sim handy? I could give you a sim number if you like and you could try porting it to o2 payg.

Tmobile only takes 2 working days to port a number to them.
Altho the sim must have credit on and have made a call / sent a text to do it

Yes u can now ring to change ur number to orange pay as you go, but they will have to send out a sim card to you which can take upto 1 month :( they dont let u just pick one of the free ones up and register that, they have to send it out so its recorded on the system

as others have said if pac code is not used ur contract will remain active, unless you cal them to cancel completly, but yet again another 30 days notice

It would take at least 7 days, and the original sim needs to be active.
Another 30 days to Orange coming up, Kerching :)

Also remember that the pac code is only valid for 30 days, after that you have to request a new one.

Fair enough, but the OP has 5 hours, not 48.

The payg sim will have the same number as your contract number.

Just don't forget to call them and register it when you get it. Your contract won't end until you do and they'll keep taking the payments. . .
