Orange replacement phone

I've been with orange on contract (dolphin 15) for a few years, i'm currently using a blackberry curve, it's not working too well- sometimes crashes, so i phone orange and they said as i'm out of my 12months warranty they can offer me a new blackberry for £70 AND i can renew my contract in december (getting another new phone then)

what i want to know is, would i have to return my current phone to them or is it mine for keeps? aka, can i trade it in and get some £$ back instead of being £70 out of pocket...?
thanks in advance!

Depends under which 'system' their doing it.

One requires the old phone back, one doesn't. You'd need to ask them...

must likely they will take the old phone back when the courier come to delivery the new phone, happen with my phone as well and I was out of contract.

That £70 is usually a emergency fee for the replacement phone.

nah mate you keep YOUR phone, why would they want it when
you've paid for it, all your doing is renewing your contract and
paying for a new phone.

she said that she can STILL renew her contract in December, but get a replacement phone for now if she pays for it.

they will probs take your old phone, there is no blackberry on payg for anywhere near £70 on the website so they are just charging you a emergency fee for a replacement.

Why are you askin on here - Ask Orange?

i didn't want to ask orange incase they then decided to make me return my phone! (duh?)
thanks for your responses, i guess i'll just wait 2 months with a crappy phone instead of forking out £70!

try updating the OS if you haven't done so, that might help stop the phone crashing.

i dont think you need to return the phone. why would you? i also had to pay £70 for a phone in a similar situation few years back. i did not return no phone.

on a separate note... why dont you get a cheaper phone on pay as you go (ebay) until December when theyl give you a free phone as it is
