Here we go again  you do like to fish lol

Not a case of being able to afford one, its more a matter of vfm. I bought a Desire, O2, factory sealed with upgrade receipt for £250.00 (1 x iP4 or 2 x Desires) mmm let me think ?

I'm sure he mentioned he needed a phone that worked properly.

Desire destroys the iPhone in most aspects - who really cares that the iPhone has more pixels - I'd much rather have the 30% extra battery life tyvm:

That's just not true - don't make me rip the desires battery life apart again. Apart from that, its a grea tphone - I just like to annoy the apple haters :)

You never ripped apart the HTC Desires battery life - you made some uninformed comments.. You were put straight by not just myself, but others.. Then never replied again.

I replied every time - and you, being the real fool, then came back with information that suggested that the Desire's battery life was nearly as good as the 3GS. I disputed that too, but it didn't really matter - you ended up backing the argument.

Spritey how many more times? Every time you post, I rip you to pieces. Seriously, if you don't know what you are talking about (tip: you don't), don't post.

Desire does have a poor battery life, can't compare it to the iPhone but it's significantly lower than my Hero.

Absolute rubbish. Remember I've used one for a couple of weeks. Please don't lie to me because you phone isn't as good as another in certain areas.

I've not said the Desire is a bad phone, but the battery life is much, much, MUCH worse than the 3GS, and you know full well it is.

You started your dispute with someone else - not me sunshine.

You replies with so misinformed - you thought i was talking about a task manager app..

I may have an iPhone 4 - but even i get sick of how bias and idiotic you Apple fanboys become..

The iPhone 3GS battery life is on par with the HTC Desire.. The specification standby time and 3G talk time are essentially the same. If anything, the HTC Desire is rated slightly above.

Wrong. The Desire and the 3GS are generally close, but the 3GS is very slightly better. However, thats irelavant - you've claimed here there and everywhere that the Desire's battery life was much better. You were wrong, again. You can post random stuff trying to cloud the issue, but your "moron" comment/rant really made it clear you haven't got a clue. You just resort to insults when it becomes clear your distorted reality isn't washing with anyone else.

Peace.

Woah no need for the insults. I thought we buried the hatchet a while back. I was just confirming my findings on the Desire having a less than stellar battery lifetime to my Hero.

I'm just getting tired of repeating myself mate :x

So many Apple hand idiots on here trying to bash the HTC Desire, similarlly it's tiresome when you get the morons who go on and on about the iPhone 4 reception issue (which is blatently a software exacerbated issue).. No facts.. Just mis informed statements.

The facts:

HTC Desire / iPhone 3GS battery ratings are pretty much level.

If you configure the HTC Desire correctly, use an app like juice defending to control you 3G connection intervals so it doesn't try and download the entire internet every 10 minutes.. You'll see similar performance you get from a 3GS..

The above isn't a bad thing, it's actually a good thing.. Allowing the owner to either have a social network, media brimming internet phone will keeps you connected every minute (if you want).. Or sporadically connected for just your important stuff like emails.

It would be nice if Apple put that kind of control in the hands of it's iPhone users

FACT: Thats not what you said originally, yet become insulting and aggressive when I point that out.

In the other thread, I also used the phrase "out of the box" - to point out that out of the box, the 3GS has a much better battery life. Personally I think push notifications are a lot better for me personally vs always connected social networking/weather apps.

If you actually bothered to read my posts, rather than the constantly pathetic rants about made up arguments, you would know that I like phones. Smartphones. All phones. Well - good phones anyway. The iPhone is a good phone. The Desire is a good phone.

Wrong again

HTC Desire:
Stand by time: up to 360 hours
3G talk time: 6.5 hours

iPhone 3GS:
Stand by time: up to 300 hours
3G talk time: 5 hours

The only thing the iPhone 3GS beats the HTC Desire in terms of battery specification, is 2G talk time.

Fact remains, it's an issue of the user configuring their phone how they want it.. I've gotten just as much battery life out of the HTC Desire i had, than i did out of the iPhone 3GS 32GB.

And i've not once claimed it was better, in my original comparison i actually point out that fact.. But hey, why argument semantics.. When i can just quote exactly what i said:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/704475/samsung-galaxy-or-htc-desire/showpost.php?p=8891194&postcount=19

Having an iPhone 3GS 32GB and a HTC Desire - i can say that once the HTC Desire is configured properly to manage data connections at reasonable intervals, the battery life is about the same as iPhone 3GS.

Not wrong, again, LISTEN and read before posting. The HTC Desire, out of the box, achieves nowhere even close to those figures. The iPhone figures are within a zone I would consider accurate. The Desire, out of the box, will, in my OWN EXPERIENCE be out of juice by 5pm ish.

God - it's like talking to a brick wall...

Have you ever used a HTC Desire?

When you take it out of the box... You have to configure it before you can even access the phone, it comes up with a little step by step guide. So it's highly dependant on what you do with that..

When you take it out of the box and you configure it properly (which is the first thing you are required to do).. Battery performance is spot on, because you simply got hardly anything on it.

I'll ask again.. Have you at least used a HTC Desire? Because if you had - you'd of known this..

Seems a mod came and cleaned up.

I like both platforms too and it is annoying when misinformation is banded around. VB1 is on the wind up over this in the same way the iPhone bashers try and wind up the iPhone users, two wrongs don't make a right but the anti-apple brigade are certainly more vocal on here than any other anti-"product" brigade.

Incidentally my friend, whom I'm basing the Desire's poor battery life on as well as online reports, keeps his 3g turned off at all times bar when he wants to use it for an hour or so a day and he still claims he gets a lot less battery life than his iPhone 3G he had previously. He's also annoyed the audio quality is vastly inferior than the iPhone, it's the last time he'll listen to me when I recommend something...

Yes, as stated multiple times, I have used a HTC Desire. I also reviewed it for a tech website. (Two seperate phones, obviously looking at them in different ways each time as well).

Anyway, I'm gonna say this ONCE more, but I doubt it'll go in.

If I get both phones out of the box, the iPhone gives me the quoted battery life times. The Desire does not. You can argue that its a good or bad thing, as you have, but what you cannot argue with are the facts.

The Desire, by your own admission needs configuring (And lets be honest, what you really mean is you need to turn everything off or down). The iPhone achieves its battery life without any "configuration" needed.

Before you reply, read this post again, as it has all the information you need to accept, again, I am right.

Have to agree, it just gets silly.. Android / iOS 4 - both have their good points, both have their bad. Depends which ones you prefer living with.

Tell your mate to check out "JuiceDefender".. Not sure why he's getting that level of performance with 3G turned off, seems weird.. He may have a faulty battery.. Has been known from looking at the Desire thread.. But at least with juice defender he is able to manage the 3G connection without thinking about it.
