Ordered twice- advice please!

I ordered a netbook from Dixons on the 30th December and the day after the money off vouchers came out. So I rang them and they assured me that I could cancel my order and that I should go ahead and order another one with the code.

So yesterday I did. However today I got an email confirming dispatch of the first order. Now should I just refuse delivery if they try to deliver it?

Check your credit card first to make sure you have / have not been billed twice...

Before now this has happened to me and only been billed once...... but 2 items :-)

Maybe ring them? Not sure why you wouldnt just call them and sort it out instead of coming on to the internet to ask other people.

i would just accept and then return it save it getting delayed goin bk to them etc etc

plus they would be hit with a charge for courier if u refused it

yes when its gets delivered refuse delivery of the one u dont want, once it gets back to dixons you should get a full refund, i assume it will have a tracking number , give it a day or 2 after refusing delivery check online to see if its been delivered back to DSG (Dixons) then ring and ask when the refund will be made

if you accept package , and then want to send it back dont u get charged 7.99 for small and 19.99 for large items, which is not refundable i presume

it's odd because when I ordered the first one, the money went from my account. then I rang to cancel it and the money came back. then I ordered the 2nd one and the money went again. So technically right now, money's been taken once and two orders are processing

because they're closed right now and the delivery is (supposedly) expected tomorrow....

If you follow the steps above you will receive a full refund of the product price and any delivery charge paid. However, you must pay the following charge for the goods to be collected from you:

Product Cost £
Large Kitchen Appliances 19.99
21" TVs and larger 19.99
All other items 7.99

so I'm better off refusing delivery...

Sounds like you will be getting 2 items...

A lot of the time the finance teams refund the payment put the product shipping is automated so much its hard to stop the item...

If you have only been changed once... wait and see what happens then take it from there...

lol might end up with 2for1

I've got a DHL tracking number which shows that the item has been picked up from DSG. If I ring dixons in the morning, can they still cancel the delivery from there? i.e. DHL return the item to DSG rather than it getting to me?

no.. it would have to be returned as failed..

if i was you... knowing Dixons, Currys etc... i would accept this item... and wait to see if your next item arrives or once you have the first item... ring up and cancel the second item for a refund.. LOL!

you never know they may re-allocated the first item onto your second order......

Why don't you sell the extra one on here? :)

I got recharged for the 1st one, so its not 2for1 after all...!

also I rang them and they just said refuse delivery of the 1st one so that's what I'll do
