Still no release date, Apple say October, looking like the very end of October now though.

I am waiting to buy a Mac Mini, does anyone know if once it's released if they will package the new OS immediately with it or will they continue to ship with Tiger for a while?

Think they offer a free OS upgrade if you buy within a month or so before a new OS is released.

I'm really anticipating leopard. I've had the plan to buy the core 2 duo mac mini as soon as leopard is released. (Yay education discount!)

I'm going say late October for release with all macs shipping as standard with Leopard 10.5. That's how Apple works generally.

But if they don't come as standard, it'll include the upgrade DVD, which will be flawless and only take a few minutes to install, in contrast to Vista. :giggle:

I see Amazon have it available on Pre Order, there are also 3 reviews for it already (1 claiming to be genuine from a tester), one of them it referring to Panther though :giggle:

It's finally been announced!

Just got two brand new 20" 2.4ghz core2duo silver Macs with 4gb of RAM last week. I wonder whether we're eligible to receive a Leopard upgrade.

As a word of note, the new monitors on the 20" models are absolutely atrocious. The move from Matte to Gloss screens was a terrible decision but the monitors also have a dreadful gradient effect, image quality is also poor compared to previous models :-(

Is that US only or worldwide?

EDIT: Nevermind answered my own question: http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=7FD5D34F&fnode=home&nplm=MB021

Can't you choose between matte and gloss screens? I know you can with the MacBook Pros.

Cheers.

Obviously just the MacBooks you get the choice with then, shame.

Hmmm, I am buying a Mac Mini but definitely want Leopard to come with it, by the looks of that link it's a case of pot luck whether it's boxed with it or not then?

Apple did have a Live Chat applet thingy on their site a few weeks ago but it seems to have vanished now.

Anyone got it yet?
