Has anyone had any luck of getting out of date argos vouchers replaced?
I have £15 with a date of 27/05/08.
I called the gift voucher line and they girl just said 'tough' and hung up!

Complain about her attitude.....you might get some more as an apology lol

In my experience they wont swap them. Big companies arent big on helping people out in my experience, only making more money

See if Tesco's will take them.........they accept anything. lol

sorry to hear this dmissy :friends:I never realised that they even had an expiry date on them ! ..............I've got Dorothy Perkins & HMV vouchers/cards somewhere, I wonder if they can run out too ? :? cause I've had them for yonks !!
As for the way she spoke to you that is completely out of order & as suggested in an earlier post, why don't you put in a complaint against her ... you must have been upset enough regarding your vouchers without having that little bonus to top it off !

Theyve expired, whos fault is it? And i doubt she said 'tough' and hung up now did she :p

Complain ASAP - surely they record their telephone calls. To just say "tough" and hang up warrents her sacking.

I had some replaced recently, I sent them along with a letter to a lady who helped me before at head office. She said they do not normally, but they would this time.

Send them and also detail the phone conversation, they may do the same for you.

I know it's my fault and just wanted to see if there was a way before throwing them away as i know tescos often replace them. I clearly have different standards to you i have no need to lie on here but maybe you do as it came to mind so quickly :whistling:

I got some free before after purchasing a £100 item(which was taken back a few days later as it was faulty anyway) it was the old fashioned type not a card with strip but a paper voucher but they stamped a date on it, I just "spilled" some coffee over the date so they couldnt see it and it was taken fine.

Couldn't you just try and pass them off instore?

If you do get problems, then maybe the manager could be of help?
#21
If i get no joy i will try that the worst they can say is no.
#22
I think thats why they put the expiry date on the vouchers so they can make a bit of money from the people loose it or something happens to it.
#23
seriously, did she say tough and put the phone down?
#24
yep, the 1st time i called they picked up the phone and hung up straight away so i phoned again and i explained i had some gift vouchers that have just gone out of date and if there is anything i can do to use them as it would be a shame to miss out and she said tough and hung up.
