just got my computer back and set up all the protocols for my email, and having saved the password( set up by my ips hosts) .
I got to send and receive and a pop up asking for my password appears and so I enter it but nothing , the pop up re appears and so far no email.. FFS

any practical advice or tip.. my top tip is use gmail, but I need some mail off my server

make sure you have the server address properly
it's usually something like pop.yourisp.com or mail.tesco.net (if it's tesco email)
and for sending email its usualy something like smtp.yourisp.com (or tesco's is post.tesco.net)

check your isp help pages for the proper addresses to use, if you don't have ther proper ones in, it's like sending a letter with only a name but no address on it

this is a public forum and while I dont know the poster and no idea if they are genuiine or not or just fishing for passwords to use to gain access to your details, Others WILL use this information as it's the simplest way to gain enugh information to do identity theft.
