Fergies losing the plot, The old red nosed whiskey drinking alky

Doesn't matter if your team is 5-0 up, there's a level of professionalism expected of a manager - dismissing the game as blatently as Benitez did was not only unprofessional but disrepectful.

It's a shame you won't see it that way - the rest of the league did tho.

a couple of arm gestures don't mean he was disrespecting anyone !!

who the hell knows what he meant apart from rafa himself..

Fergies mind games wont work this time, as for allardyce
just because his long ball hump it football failed, no need for sour grapes

Fergies losing the plot

Can't disagree. There was no need for his attempt at character assassination. Rafa's gestures might have been signalling 'all over', but he was right. Another interpretation could be that he was signalling 'ok, you can relax now' to the team. And he was right again. :p

Given the fact he did this directly after the second goal, what are you saying? Do you think he was dismissing the goal? Like I said, non-reds saw it for what it was - it's a shame you can't.

Agreed. It's something you just don't do.

they just spoke about it on football focus and benitez was gesturing to the players on the pitch...

ferguson is a crazy old fool......mind games have backfired

It doesn't matter whether he was right or not - what's being argued is his conduct.

He is quoted as saying he was trying to get alonso to play a different ball from the free kick and when xabi did not hear him and crossed the ball for torres to head in, he was as good as saying 'what do i know'

But as you say your gonna belive what you want :whistling:

Gives you something to mull over while watching the ammers i suppose

You're right, I've no idea what Gerrard and Carragher are on about most of the time either.

funny how sam lardyarse didn't say anything after the game ,

in fact not until he'd had dinner with taggart this week , then he re-looked at it :-D

mayb someone asked Rafa if he fancied a few beers and a kebab after the game and he responded with a nah thanks mate gesture?

Agreed. Heard them talking about it on talksport earlier. They seemed to suggest Alardyce would be better to concentrate on trying to stay in the premier rather that getting involved in Fergies persistant mind games.

how on earth has he lost the plot?
the best manager.. (im not a man u fan either)

Suprised he didn't do it against Chelsea. Maybe he knew better.

Utd will still win the league, but at least all this nonsense in between games makes this season a bit more interesting.

I should have made myself clearer then. His conduct was fine imo. And he was right! :-D

he hasn't lost the plot he reminds me of a cheeky grandad who sometimes says things he shouldn't but he gets away with it due to age....

personally i'm always waiting for him to say to the interviewer after the game "PULL MY FINGER SON!"

What's this Benitez won recently anyway ?

No, you made yourself clear previously (and again now) that you think it's ok for one manager to disrespect another team during a match. I don't care for your opinion (or mine to be fair, as it's irrelevent), but the Football League's stance would be 'improper conduct'.
#30
At the end of the day, It doesn't matter what Benitez was meaning when he made the gestures, It all about the mind games, Fergie has come out with it on purpose to put a little pressure on. It's the same old that has been happening for years, FACT.

I don't know how all you Scousers are moaning, Get a grip, it was only a couple of months ago Benitez was trying his luck with the same thing, FACT.
#31
As usual, more showbusiness than sport in Football, both Ferguson and Alardice's comment sounded scripted.

Loved failure Sam's cynical and detailed "open arms, and then a cross-over of arms....an undermining gesture" bit, was clearly off the top of his head...

They should forget all this crap and remember that the real fans i.e.the people paying their money inside the stadium weren't aware of this non-existent story and only care about the football.

I remember being at the West Ham Arsenal game in 06/07 when Alan Pardew had apparently upset Arsene Wenger after 'over-celebrating' a win that stopped a run of 9 defeats(I think) - what really riled him was we had the cheek to beat a fantastic Arsenal side with a late winner. No-one in the crowd gave a toss - they're who really count.
#32
This is just ridiculous comments to upset the inform Liverpool camp...wasn't Rafa right with his assumption that the game was over?

Players and managers are allowed to celebrate as long as they don't run up to opposing managers, players and fans and show off in there faces.

Next we're going to hear it's disrespectful that players celebrate after scoring a goal or cheer the fans on after a indespensible victory.
Did we hear any complaints from Spurs fans when they equalised against Arsenal in the dying moments and they went on like they won the league?

Clearly not or rafa would have been charged by now.

Not really, we were laughing at the Spurs fans thinking they were back on track after that game and thought they still had a chance of reaching the champions league....just cos they equalised. :giggle:

Only cos Clichy slipped...I don't have a clue why he decided he wanted to give Spurs a chance but I suppose he thought it was important to help them remain in the premier league so we can continue our local slanging matches.

Why, what's happened to the richest man in the world, as I haven't been around for a while? :giggle:
