PAC Code Charge

Hi,

My Orange contract will be coming to an end soon and I will be giving Orange one month notice.
Would I be able to request a PAC code then?

Also, I am thinking of taking my number to the 3 network, would they charge me for this as I understand some networks charge for this service or is it some retailer that charges?

Thanks

I have not known a retailer to charge for your PAC code,i have taken the code several times from 02 & Voda but not Orange and never been charged for it.What i do know from 02 experience is that if you ask for a PAC code then the 30 day notice is overwritten by you asking for the code and until you use it your contract will not expire. But be safe and check.

i have experience porting out from three, voda and o2, all free. recently, i have finished my first orange contract, and ported the number to another network.

but i am furious to find out a charge from a mysterious item on the last bill labelled 'MNP PAC (Debit)' of £13.05 excl vat. have been trying to phone the customer services, but it always takes a long time to get through (almost an hour), by the time i was able to get through that department was closed!

not at all impressed. undoubtedly orange is getting bad.

can someone explain what the charge is?
