I've had a crick in my neck for 6 days now, anyone got any tips to make it better please? I've tried hot baths, deep heat cream and paracetamol but it still hurts :(

It seems a long time to be in pain.

Can somebody not look after them for half an hour.

I have had this before, it usually goes after a few days.

Just try to immobilise your neck as much as possible, you can buy a neck brace from your local Pharmacy.

Deep heat etc will mask the pain but not get rid of it.

If you have had no luck with Paracetamol, try using a Co-Codamol tablet, usual Tesco stuff is fine but if you are looking for something a bit stronger, use Codis (soluable) or Paramol (they have different kinds of Codiene in them)

The doctor will advise if you are in loads of pain to take Paracetamol ever 4 hours, and a 400mg Ibuprofen in between up to 4 times a day. Dont take my advice though if you are not sure, ask a doctor. Or ring NHS Direct.

there's only the in-laws and my boys have only just got back from there, they looked after them for 5 days while we were away (which is when I cricked my neck) I feel a bit cheeky asking them to have the boys again so soon

I am sure they wouldn't want you to be in pain.

It's a horrible pain - the cricked neck.
I think a visit to the doctor is called for after 6 days .

Meanwhile, try rubbing in some Ibuleve Max Strength gel and ..... a decent physiotherapist should be able to help.
