Yes driving on black ice or frost will be like nothing you have done before be careful

The secret for winter driving is not grab the wheel to tight. The wheel will feel very light before a slide and if you grip to hard you don't notice. take it easy ok
#4
use a kettle of warm not boling water to shift the ice.
be warned to hot and you may crack your windscreen:oops:

The joys of winter! Had my first bit of ice this morning, spent 15 mins de-icing the car (seems the spray stuff wasnt touching it!) and then I realised Iv lost a glove. One cold hand, one mildly warmer sorting out the car, only to get to work and its freezing there too!

Take care on the roads now, allow plenty of time and keep blankets etc handy in case of a breakdown.

I once had a seagull hit my car when I was doing 70...kind of makes scraping ice off the windscreen quite a pleasure!

even cool water should do the trick, beats scraping any day

Switched on my heated seats for the first time this morning, I dont know how I managed without them before.

And dont leave your car outside with the engine running to clear the ice while you pop inside to get ready for work.

Plenty of cars stolen that way.

watering can full of warm water. kettle would mean u gotta keep going back and forward.

Thanks everyone - happy to have four wheels on the ground - last year I cycled in the snow (and motorcycled -not fun!).

My windscreen never frosts? I guess that's the joy of living down sarf :) xx
#15
I just pour a kettle over it - hubby goes mad LOL!!!
#16
No, the real joy is when you've scraped it, piled all the kids into it, and then found it won't start. The joy of a small battery in cold weather.

I finished work last night at 10pm, and was up this morning to chase my kids out to school. They leave at 7 so we're always up at 5.45 -ish x
